Monday, 24 September 2012. Well as of the 19th September, I've officially owned Kel for a whole year. Boy does time go fast. And to mark the occasion we went for a short hack all on our own! Saturday, 3 December 2011. Ride number 4 and we're ready to hack. Ride 1: Sitting and being led. Ride 2: Walking in the round pen on the lunge. Ride 3: Walking and some sitting trot in the round pen on lunge. Ride 4: First ride up to the farm and back. It wasn't a long ride at all - 10 minutes or so - but for his 4th ride I'm very proud. Mexico to Canada by Horseback. Saturday, August 22, 2009. John Hanson and his wife own the Logging Camp Ranch where we camped before moving northward into Medora. We were welcomed warmly, as has been the case many times before. But, the trick was getting there from Marmarth. John Hanson told me that this field had at least 3 species of sage growing in it along with the grasses they baled for hay. Marmarth, North Dakota. That puts the number of newly acquired puppies up to 4 since the beginning of the ride.
