Hooking in my Hoolan. Me, my crafts, and whatever life throws my way. Otherwise known as the most boring blog ever! Saturday, August 11, 2007. Ridged and Waffle Dishcloths. I love making dishcloths. They make for short and satisfying projects that have a purpose at home or make a great gift. I'm putting these two dishcloths in the same post because the patterns were together on the Bernat web site, and you can find the file here. This is the ridged dishcloth:. And here's a close-up of the stitches:.

Hooking in my Hoolan. Me, my crafts, and whatever life throws my way. Otherwise known as the most boring blog ever! Sunday, December 31, 2006. I recently finished my first venture into filet crochet, something that seems quite complicated and I wasn't sure I was ready for. Well, I didn't try anything delicate or complicated. There was no steel hook or thread involved. Instead I tried a rather simple filet scarf. Bernat Cott'n Silk, 3 skeins of 1.75 oz. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
Hooking in my Hoolan: Egg Coaster
http://hookinghoolan.blogspot.com/2007/08/egg-coaster.html
Hooking in my Hoolan. Me, my crafts, and whatever life throws my way. Otherwise known as the most boring blog ever! Thursday, August 09, 2007. Here is a project I did sometime last year. It's a crocheted egg coaster. The pattern is from the Crochet Pattern-a-Day 2006 Calendar. This was another fun and really quick project. I think it's really cute, but I'm still trying to decide if anyone would want a set of them as a gift. Any thoughts? Size "G" crochet hook. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Hooking in my Hoolan. Me, my crafts, and whatever life throws my way. Otherwise known as the most boring blog ever! Friday, November 05, 2010. Alas, from a snowflake to a frog. Falling Snowflakes Crochet Scarf. After getting to the end of row 2, I am back at the beginning of row 2. Considering that row 2 is along 201 sc's and it involves doing "fans" which consist of several dc and sc and ch, it's a long way back. Can you say "rippit"? That dry stuff in a shaky tube is saw dust in comparison. All text an...

Hooking in my Hoolan. Me, my crafts, and whatever life throws my way. Otherwise known as the most boring blog ever! Monday, July 23, 2007. Sleeper of a Bag. This project is from Martha Stewart. And while I don't know if I'd say "it's a good thing" I would certainly say "it's not too bad at all." I did have a lonely pillow cases around, so I can't think of anything better than to make a bag with it. I got this project done in one evening with no seam ripping and no frustration. Yay. Saturday, July 21, 2007.

Skye Crafts: Wow.....AWOL!!!!
http://skyecrafts.blogspot.com/2007/12/wowawol.html
Sunday, December 30, 2007. Geeezzzz. Time goes by so fast I did not realize I was AWOL for a year. Sorry! Well the latest thing is a friend of mine sent me a link to this really neat sight for crafters. It's called Ravelry. And I have to say I love it. It's a place where I'm able to keep track of all my yarns, pattern books and projects that I'm working on. Thanks D-Man! This one I made out of " The Big Book of Dishcloths. I used a giant ball of 100% Cotton that I had here at home. I could not tell y...
the Knotty Hooker: These Booties Were Made for Walkin'
http://theknottyhooker.blogspot.com/2006/09/these-booties-were-made-for-walkin.html
These Booties Were Made for Walkin'. The baby shower was today and I was up until after midnight last night and before nine this morning, but I. Finished these damn booties! They really are quite sweet, but my pictures don't really do them justice. Here's the image from the pattern:. The pattern indicates these are "easy", but I might go as far as to say they are a good intermediate project. There's nothing too. Funky about them - your basic stitches and decreases - but they are a tad. WowEm the booties ...
the Knotty Hooker: Hats are *Tops*!
http://theknottyhooker.blogspot.com/2006/09/hats-are-tops.html
Finally - something good to come of insomnia! I forgot that I had a ball of Patons Shetland Chunky in Charcoal grey left over from a cable scarf I knit for my husband, and I've got enough baby yarn to clothe an orphange, so, while I was busy not. Sleeping, I figured - why not try an adult size hat? It features the same Two-Layer Irish Rose. As discussed in my last post, only this time I decided to try it with two colours. And - instead of ending with a round of sc like the Double Crochet Head Hugger.

T-Ra provided our craft group with a plethora of card making supplies during Sunday's monthly get-together, so I decided to put down my crochet hook and make a card for a friend of mine who's been dealing with some really crappy. crap lately. (Thanks, T-Ra! I like homemade gifts to look like homemade gifts (thankfully, I suck, so this is not a difficult effect to achieve), so instead of using a paper-cutter for a precise, sharp edge, I decided to just fold and tear the edges of the paper. Skye Crafts: Scarf & Hat Set
http://skyecrafts.blogspot.com/2006/12/scarf-hat-set.html
Thursday, December 28, 2006. Scarf and Hat Set. Okay, so I have not posted anything in a while. There is a good reason though. Mainly everything I have made was intended as a Christmas gift, and I'm not one for ruining the surprise. So I will start posting what I've made over the last month and a half now. The items I'm most proud of are the scarf and Hat Set's that I made for each of my 3 sisters. I used the Bernat: Super Stripes yarn. And the free pattern. That comes with it. That yarn is pretty cool!

Friday, September 15, 2006. My first Crochet Hat. I have given the hat to my friends daughter to wear as she will be getting a blue snow suit for this winter. So now that I have discovered how easy creating a hat actually is i'm becoming a little more brave and will be attempting some new things. I'll be going through some of my pattern books now. I think Christmas is going to be a lot of fun this year. Thursday, September 14, 2006. And ( sc = single crochet. Called 10 20 30 Minutes to learn to Crochet.

However there is no way you are going to wear them in there current state because they are so frumpy looking. Well my good friend T-Ra shared a very interesting book. the Knotty Hooker: Playne Jayne
http://theknottyhooker.blogspot.com/2006/12/playne-jayne.html
If you're not a. Fan (or if you've just never seen/heard of the show - c'est moi! You might not know what a "Jayne Hat" is. I know I didn't until very recently. My brother-in-law is a HUGE Firefly fan and he introduced my husband to the series (on DVD) a few months ago. When it came time to make our Christmas shopping lists, DH suggested that I make BIL a Jayne Hat. "A what, now"? First thing's first - can I crochet this? To eff it up! I immediately Googled "Jayne Hat pattern" and to my surprise, this th...

Zaterdag 26 mei 2012. Did you notice the silence on this blog? That's because I moved my writing to my other one. Please come take a look over there! Dinsdag 13 maart 2012. This also i...

Happily Yarn Bombing since 2012. Baaaahahahaha, this one makes me giggle every time I think about it! Near my house there is a street called Dairyfarm Terrace and one day I had this bright spark of an idea for a yarn bomb on the street pole and it cracked me up right from the start! Dairyfarm" heh heh heh can you guess what I did! I giggled my way through making it and I giggled my way through stitching it to the pole. I hope you all share my sense of humour and find this Udderly Hilarious too! Bombing a...

Hooking is Awesome
Monday, December 23, 2013. Cross-body bag all finished! I started making this one with just an idea in mind, no pattern. I started out with the front/back of the bag, then made the sides (4 dc's wide) attaching the metal square-rings for the strap. I then added a top flap to cover the zippered top (just rows of sc's edged with sc's) and made a lining out of blue minky fabric. Adding the owl with a few stitches and it's done! The last Christmas gift made! Inside the flap, zippered lining. Hook 1 row sc, 4...
