The Hope4Sudan Blog: About

http://www.hope4sudanblog.blogspot.com/p/about_3.html

There is currently a severe genocide situation taking place in the Nuba Region of Sudan following the recent civil war, where hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes and are living in the Nuba Mountains as well as refugee camps along the border in South Sudan. The resources in this area are extremely limited, and people are starving to death each day. A group of people passionate about feeding and saving these people from earthly and eternal hunger have begun to take action.

Saturday, April 12, 2014. Arrival. (Part 6 of 8). Arriving at the Camp. More vehicles were leaving Kodok loaded with people than were waiting around to be hired to take grain from the docks. In fact, we were the only ones looking for such a service. Thus, it was not easy to hire a lorry. In addition, we had to get loaders from the market while meeting with various officials. The Hope4Sudan Blog: Begging Permission (Part 4 of 8)

http://www.hope4sudanblog.blogspot.com/2014/04/begging-permission-part-4-of-8.html

Thursday, April 10, 2014. Begging Permission (Part 4 of 8). Much of what happens in South Sudan occurs through consensus and cooperation. The human element is essential and without the right contacts and connections the gears grind to a halt quickly. As mentioned, Pastor John provided two persons of peace in the form of Pastors Ayat and Daniel, from Melut and Baliet, respectively. Inexplicably, permission was granted on the spot! The security situation was very precarious. Thousands of people were fl...

Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Mobilization and Arrival (Part 3 of 8). After a Few Small Miracles - Mobilization and Arrival in Melut. First the Miracles…Having made many inquiries to people involved in South Sudan relief and missions, in the last week of February I decided I was eventually going to find a way in, and needed to get a visa. Well, sooner was Tuesday when Alan Kelley of MedteamsWorldWide contacted me about the possibility of being able to fly in with his team as opposed to using the March 9.

RN on a Mission. 8230; a new Dawn. Darfur: Please Don’t Let Me Fall In! January 15, 2012. RN on a mission. We adhere to their leadership and most times, within an hour or so we start seeing the women and children. However, this day was different. The trip member who was in charge of communicating with the village leadership saw that I had stopped and inquired. My exact words? I am done. Huh? Needless to say, I went to bed, drowsy from medication, and exhausted from all that chanting. RN on a mission.

RN on a Mission. 8230; a new Dawn. February 7, 2012. February 8, 2012. RN on a mission. By the time we arrived I was pretty wiped out from my persistent heightened state. You see I’m a what if-er ; what if we get lost? What if we can’t find our way back? Why are we going further if we can’t find our way back? What if I am faced with spending the night on the Darfuri desert floor without the zippered protection of my tent from the arachnids? What if I never get to tell my mother I love her again? carrie in chaos: October 2012

http://carrieinchaos.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Escaping from the chaos to communicate the chaos and depending on Jesus to keep the calm. Saturday, October 20, 2012. When life feels like a lemon, just add some sugar. I was really trying to be optimistic about going back to work. But inside, I was weeping. The anticipation of saying goodbye to these faces each day, made my heart sink. Wednesday came with a meltdown. Some sweet new friends knew it was Jason's birthday week. And graciously offered to babysit so we could get a date. On a separate note.

Escaping from the chaos to communicate the chaos and depending on Jesus to keep the calm. Wednesday, June 27, 2012. In a dark room. Im sitting in a dark room right now. This has become a bit of a routine lately. You see, the little one has a weird obsession with hair. Her own, and other peoples (i.e. her big sister). She likes to play with it.and pull it. This especially becomes an issue at bedtime. Sweet-sleeping Aidan wakes up to find Haley right in her face pulling on some curls. Monday, June 11, 2012.
