Random thoughts on food, wine, travel and other passions. Sunday, December 12, 2010. Free Form Fabulous (tart). Swiss Chard, Shitake,. News flash: I've never been one to follow the rules. This does not mean that I can't, it simply means that I don't like to.so imagine my delight in creating the Galette. A free form tart is perfect for those who don't especially like to color within the lines. There are no rules, yay! Swiss Chard, Shitake and Parmesan Galette. 2 tbs extra virgin olive oil. 2 tbs pine nuts.
Hope Cooks: Gratin Goodness
http://hopecooks.blogspot.com/2011/02/gratin-goodness.html
Random thoughts on food, wine, travel and other passions. Friday, February 25, 2011. Comes from the French word meaning to scrape. If you’ve ever been the lucky person serving a gratin, you will know that this means the act of scraping all of the baked on Gruyere cheese goodness from the (traditionally) earthenware dish. As an added incentive, (as if one were needed) your home will smell absolutely heavenly while baking this dish of deliciousness. 6 large baking potatoes. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter.
Hope Cooks: April 2011
http://hopecooks.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Random thoughts on food, wine, travel and other passions. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Pasta with artichokes, garlic and celery. 160; In the cabinet, I had a can (dont gasp) of quartered artichoke hearts which I find to be a lovely ingredient when time is an issue. Do I prefer freshly cooked artichokes? 160; It makes sense, since salt brings out the flavor in food and the dried pasta soaks up the cooking water. Click here for recipe and to read more. Hope Cook | YA WRITER
It’s just like that thing with metallica…. I saw a post on Tumblr the other day discussing illegally downloaded books. It all started with a young adult author expressing her frustration over a practice that essentially robs her of part of her paycheque. I felt her pain and was going to hit the reblog button. Then I scrolled down a bit further and found the discussion going along with it. Someone declared they would. You know, usual internet troll crap. Goes into writing a book. But guess what? Your new ...
