Most of their waking hours are hooked up to these fascinating hand-held devices which have internet and email access, music, a keyboard and games. I was stunned by the reality of their preoccupation with a small electronic device. What am I missing? What are young people who spend 16 hours per day attached to their phones missing? It is a story about a successful Washington lawyer who leaves her professional life to help her father and mother run a rural medical clinic in Tennessee. This quote from the book on page 172 is good to remember in these uncertain times. I stared at Fletcher in hopeless frustration. He said, "There's another way, you know.". And what would that be?
