Saturday, December 15, 2007. Missy is doing fine. We have gotten her out to our place now, which is really nice. She enjoys her canopy very much. We got her some hay about one and a half to two weeks ago, and in the first week, she polished off over three of the alfalfa hay bales! She's pretty round now. We put Naomi up on her. Starting three days ago were the Breeders' Cup World Championship races. First Friday, then Saturday. On Friday, the Filly and Mare Sprint went to Ventura. Forever Together won the Filly and Mare Turf. Stardom Bound won the Juvenile Fillies. Maram won the Juvenile Fillies Turf. The half mile was slow, in just over 58 seconds (generally half miles are run in 47 or under).

Friday, May 23, 2008. And he does it again! Big Brown did it again in May 17th's Preakness Stakes. He broke from 7th post in a field of 12. Behindatthebar was scratched. It took a burst of speed to get the champion out of the middle of all those horses. If he had been a few seconds slower, he might have got sandwiched in, and lost the race.
