Thursday, January 01, 2009. Bluebonnets Blooming in December and January in the Highland Lakes Area? Yes, some Bluebonnets are already blooming in the Highland Lakes of central Texas. There are blooms on 3 Bluebonnet plants near our home on Bluebonnet Hill in Kingsland, Texas and it is only January 1, 2009.
