algae fish: January 2015
http://algaefish.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Feeling craft-y (not to be confused with crafty). Today we had craft day at church. I'm pretty happy with how my projects turned out. Can you guess my favorite color? Wintery wreath made from ornaments. It was fun to make. I did have one more ornament fall off on the way home. If i can find where it is from, I might try to add it back on. Also, I think I need to move the bow down about an inch if I can figure out how to do that. Saturday, January 24, 2015. Never a dull moment.

algae fish: July 2015

Friday, July 31, 2015. Sasamat Lake - the warmest lake in B.C. But first, a few pictures from yesterday. Jayna is showing her progress on the weaving loom Grandma and Grandpa gave her for her birthday. Benjamin is eating bells this his Grandpa played with when he was a baby! Today we went to Sasamat Lake, the warmest lake in B.C. We arrived around 9:30 and the beach and lake were quite empty. Even Benjamin went in the water, even though he was a little unsure at first. Yes, he is pouring sand on his back.

Saturday, July 25, 2015. Happy (belated) birthday to Dad! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. The other L.Vis! I went here. Now I graduated. This is where I teach this year. But not really books. Could have been worse. Desert (not to be confused with dessert). Exorbitantly long post title that I thought I ought to match with an equally ridiculous label. Frustrating first world problems. I feel so blessed. I hate talking on the phone. I hope I dont ever move anywhere really cold!

algae fish: Fresh tomato sauce because we don't need to cook when it is 116 degrees outside.

Friday, August 14, 2015. Fresh tomato sauce because we don't need to cook when it is 116 degrees outside. Why yes, that is fresh tomato sauce. In the makings on a Friday night. It was a sweltering 116 when I got home (but I saw that the airport recorded 117 today. A new record. Yay. But not really yay.). I had started to feel a little nauseous when I left school - I. I felt a lot more human and a lot less wilted. Labels: desert (not to be confused with dessert). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I wond...

Monday, December 15, 2014. View from the doorstep again. Friday night I think. The recent clouds have made for some really pretty sunrises and sunsets. Tuesday, December 09, 2014. The Garden is set up for their luminaria display, so there are poinsettias around too. So pretty! Here is the view from the top of the hill this afternoon:. It was nice that Amanda and her son could join me today. It was fun to go with someone. Gorgeous sunset as we were leaving! Labels: desert (not to be confused with dessert).

Tuesday, April 28, 2015. The world, it is a-changin'. I think today was the first time I have had a student talk about a family with two moms, at least in the context of knowing someone personally. It probably won't be the last. The world, it is a-changin'. Us she had a baby." This is the reason for one of the most important things I say at Meet the Teacher Night, something I learned from Aunt Florence:. I promise not to believe everything your child says about you. I love my job. Sunday, April 19, 2015.

algae fish: October 2014
http://algaefish.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 14, 2014. The Desert Botanical Garden. Is getting a little free advertising today since they provided me with some nice picture fodder by maintaining their '2nd Tuesday of the month is free admission' policy. They are building a new pavilion in the center, so I headed Left first, toward the agave forest, or whatever that section is called. Some plants have really tall shoots! Out near the desert people loop I saw 2 rabbits. They are so cute! Facing the other direction. Before I moved her...

Friday, July 17, 2015. 360 degrees of mountaintop view near Crater Lake on Hudson Bay Mountain in Northern B.C. At one point it almost sounds like thunder :-). That was probably just the wind. Or me breathing. :-P. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. The other L.Vis! I went here. Now I graduated. This is where I teach this year. But not really books. http://algaefish.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. Mom had my camera, so here is a rare picture of me in my classroom. After school Tuesday we decorated for Christmas! Mom and Dad came to visit for a week and it was so nice to have them here, even though Dad was sick for a few days :( On the brighter side, a student gave me a sunflower for Thanksgiving. It is so pretty! But these ones did! And you can see that we had strawberry milk for a snack while we waited for the power to return so we could finish the movie). On the bridge...

algae fish: Educational Post
http://algaefish.blogspot.com/2015/07/educational-post.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Last Friday I went with Aunt Marian and 100 people I did not know to a Writing Power conference by Adrienne Gear . It was good for several reasons:. I got back into a school routine for 1 day at least. It reminded me that sitting and listening is exhausting. It rained all day so I wore my jacket for the first time all summer. Oh, and the conference was good too. The conference was aimed at B.C. teachers of primary and intermediate students (Grades 1 - 6? 1 The writing process.
