Meet TS and Come See the Rest of the Garden. Thursday, June 25, 2015. Two Thousand Pounds of Carpe Diem. I don't recall posing for this picture. So I did. It only took eight hours. The drainage pipe from our sump pump as well as a pipe from under our patio kept this area so saturated it stunk. I bought 1500 pounds of cheap river rock to form the base of the bed. Scout went blind from diabetes. My blind dog Scout navigates. Around the garden based on surface texture and freaked out when he discovered a ch...

Meet TS and Come See the Rest of the Garden. Sunday, April 26, 2015. I'm covered in soil but I don't think you'll mind. The garden is bursting with growth. I've just started cleaning all the grass out of the trenches between the beds and the lawn and have a long way to go. Someday I'll rip out a massive chunk of that lawn and put in a pond but not today. These common primroses are one of my favorite spring flowers. I love how simple and straight forward they are. I think the flowers look like little UFO's.

Meet TS and Come See the Rest of the Garden. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. The Honesty of Annuals. Seed grown orange gomphrena (globe amaranth) lights up the Sunnyside Garden. Shut the door and close the curtain. I have to confess. I used to be a plant snob. Orange and white gomphrena filled a gap left by the gaura that rotted. I was convinced the only plants worthy of my garden were perennials. I stuffed my pots with annuals but had excluded them from my garden beds. That has yet to live up to it's name.

Casa Mariposa: Mosaics
http://ts-casamariposa.blogspot.com/p/mosaics.html
Meet TS and Come See the Rest of the Garden. Sometimes I get the itch to make something. I'm not actually that crafty or artistic but I have a knack for creating funky mosaics. I've created two large pieces for the garden - a pot and a birdbath. This page doesn't give directions on how to make them but it does link you to the posts that do. This old metal birdbath was covered in beads and buttons and then coated with marine grade resin to prevent water damage and yellowing. It was very easy to make.
