So, I can't take credit for this cake because I'm doing a little apprenticing with a cute girl in our ward just learning all she knows about making cakes and then helping her with a couple of wedding cakes in August. This was our first practice-cake that we made for my parents 25th wedding anniversary! It was a white cake with a fresh strawberry and banana filling. Way yummy. Saturday, January 30, 2010. Just under three weeks and counting. This is Maclaine's dad writing. In less than three weeks Maclaine will be released from her mission. We are all in denial. Grateful denial, but denial nonetheless. It takes our breath away when we consider this most marvelous blessing to us, to her and especially to her beloved people of Puerto Rico. Gotta stop writing. I've been told by several friends that once your missionary comes home, you really miss the weekly letters you both write and receive. That's probably true. Sometimes we choose not to call certain people by their names in this household, except for a select few that merit the use of both first and last names (mainly old high school crushes). For some reason, it is just too entertaining to refer to people by their respective code names. Here are some recent favorites:. The TA. - my crush this semester. Too bad nothing can ever happen while he's still grading my papers. As you can tell, they are all guys. Typical. All in the Family.
