The McPrince Chronicles: December 2009
http://mcprince.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Favorite songs of 2009. Inspires me to keep my list going, even if it's not as well thought out as his. Here's a slew of songs I listened to a lot in 2009, in no particular order. 1 "Poor Boy" from Blind Pilot's 3 Rounds and a Sound. 2 "Bracket, WI" from Bon Iver on the Dark Was The Night compilation album. 3 "All My Friends" from Broken Social Scene's To Be You and Me. 4 "Banshee Beat" from Animal Collective's Feels. 5 "La Llorona" (The Crying Woman) from Beirut's March of the Zapotec. I'll have about f...

The McPrince Chronicles: March 2009
http://mcprince.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Spring began this week, and with it, I hope, will come more than improving weather. The winter that just ended was a blur, largely because of work, which meant little to no time or energy for blog posts. Things are, generally speaking, crazy at work. Several factors combine to make it so:. 2) The unprecedented changes currently unfolding in how people consume media. 3) The collapse of our economy. On top of that, as a factor of Nos. 2 and 3, last week we got sizeable pay cuts, four furlough days and ...

The McPrince Chronicles: Final mileage check
http://mcprince.blogspot.com/2008/12/final-mileage-check.html
The (nearly) final tally on my bike commute this year: 2,044 miles since I started in early April. And if I do my minimum rides on the six days of work I have left this year after returning from vacation, that figure will rise to 2,080 miles. I hope to get in some full rides, though, and cap the year around 2,100 miles. That, roughly speaking, is the distance between Portland and Dallas, Texas. Some other numbers to consider:. By biking this year I. Avoided using 78 gallons of gasoline. Morocco: 09.0...

The McPrince Chronicles: 67 hours in vancouver
http://mcprince.blogspot.com/2005/09/67-hours-in-vancouver.html
67 hours in vancouver. We're back from our mini-vacation. the "other" 'couv is something else, though we still love our version. We had three days of great weather, beautiful sites, towering glass skyscrapers, and a million languages. the city has a very cosmopolitan, international buzz. Had two great dinners. granted, we were only there a few days, but if you had only one meal in that city, hands down, go to vij's. Also ate at a great place called west. Think of something similar to wildwood. Subscribe ...
