Word for the Hour: January 2010
http://hourword.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Word for the Hour. The hour has come for the word of light to be spoken into a dark world. Monday, January 11, 2010. What Are You Waiting For? Waiting is a part of life, a bigger part than we likely realize. It is part of the price we pay for what we need and desire. That price is time. We spend time waiting just as assuredly as we spend money on the things for which we are waiting. We budget our time accordingly. Can they be utilized? Let me answer that lovingly with one word, NO. Exercise some fait...
Word for the Hour: Will the REAL Dad please Stand Up
http://hourword.blogspot.com/2009/06/will-real-dad-please-stand-up.html
Word for the Hour. The hour has come for the word of light to be spoken into a dark world. Sunday, June 21, 2009. Will the REAL Dad please Stand Up. Remember, having the title of "real" dad may not make a guy a real dad. I salute every father who invests himself in the lives of his children even if he and his kids have different last names. I urge every father to stand up, be a man, and love your kids enough to spend time with them. Earn the title DAD. Because He lives,. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Word for the Hour: A Fresh Coat of Paint
http://hourword.blogspot.com/2009/05/fresh-coat-of-paint.html
Word for the Hour. The hour has come for the word of light to be spoken into a dark world. Friday, May 22, 2009. A Fresh Coat of Paint. We are scratching an itch this weekend. What is the itch? Well, our family room has pinkish colored walls and carpet. It looks like we are entombed in a Pepto-Bismol room. Pepto is supposed to soothe, but the family room is far from soothing. So, we are painting and ripping out carpet. Home make-overs are all the rage. You can hardly turn on the TV without running in...

Word for the Hour. The hour has come for the word of light to be spoken into a dark world. Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut. What are acorns good for? What is an acorn? God's word contains the seed for new life in Christ, the gospel, and provides nourishment for Christians to grow. Maybe, but if so just tell them you are being an oak tree and sharing your acorns of truth. After all, sometimes we ought to feel like a nut.for Jesus. Because He lives,. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Word for the Hour: Doing the Laundry
http://hourword.blogspot.com/2009/05/doing-laundry.html
Word for the Hour. The hour has come for the word of light to be spoken into a dark world. Friday, May 8, 2009. Today was laundry day here at the Holcomb house. That is not such a big deal. It was probably laundry day at many houses. It may be laundry day at your house, too. The difference for us was that for the first time in more years than I can remember, laundry day meant a trip to a laundry-mat. Two hours, two regular washer loads, three triple washer loads, three ungowa. Sin in our lives can be lik...

Markerboard Mom: May 2008
http://markerboardmom.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Countdown to Summer Fun. For this homeschooling family, summer break means staying up late and sleeping late in the mornings. It also means not having "lessons" during the day time. The boys are ready to jump out of their skin with anticipation of "no school work! As they put it. However, after two days of non-stop video games and computer time they get a little burned out and start wandering the house with the universal whine "I'm bored.". What was wrong with me? Trip to the park.

Thursday, January 17, 2008. This is the skinniest thing I could find in my photo albums. We found this walking stick bug on our front door in October 2006. This is the only one I have ever seen in person, and we thought it was neat! Links to this post. This Thursday I focus my thanks on my children and being a mom. My two boys bring joy and adventure to my life and make me a better person. I'm humbled and eternally thankful to be their mother. Links to this post. Labels: Thankful Thursday being mom.
Markerboard Mom: Progressivism - A philosophy
http://markerboardmom.blogspot.com/2008/11/progressivism-philosophy.html
Sunday, November 16, 2008. Progressivism - A philosophy. This 8-wk. unit, I'm studying philosophy and education. One of these classes I'm just loving! The other. well, not so much. ;) A funny thing happened this week when the two mixed! We studied and developed our own philosophy of education. Here's what I posted this week on my class discussion board:. I never would have guessed it. The other homeschool moms in my area do lovingly call me a rebel, but I still haven’t figured out exactly why! However, I...
