Break Out in the Bayou: March 2010
http://breakoutinthebayou.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Break Out in the Bayou. Friends, Accomplishments and Life Lessons. Thursday, March 11, 2010. By Point Park Student Activities. There was not one fight or quarrel, even when hot topics arose. Each of us were very diverse and I think that is one strength our team had. I am so grateful that I was able to get to know each person. My one regret is that I did not meet these individuals sooner. It is 2008 in Treme time but I asked that question back in December 2006 on Wet Bank Guide:. 8230;I trust in your faithfulness. Grant my heart joy in your help…”. I recall from my trip down from North Dakota that a...

The 19 Benefit for Mother’s Day Second Line Shooting Victims | Back Of Town

The 19 Benefit for Mother’s Day Second Line Shooting Victims. May 25, 2013. As most of you have probably heard, there was a mass shooting at a Second Line on Mother’s Day. Nineteen people (actually the number is 21 if you count injuries from being stampeded) were injured. We count our blessings that none were killed. As I looked across the crowd a woman walked around with a heartbreaking sign:. She disappeared before I could get her name. The music just kept going and I started dancing instead of taking ...

Liquid Sunshine: April 2010

Living the Sunshiny Life of Music and Media. Friday, April 30, 2010. Ethics vs. Law. I was surprised by Randy Cohen's Ethicist column in the recent Sunday New York Times Magazine about the ethics of media piracy. Since the woman who wrote in had bought a hardcover copy of the new Stephen King novel and the publisher had decided to withhold the e-book version (to increase hardcover sales), the columnist decided her piracy of the e-book was illegal but ethical. Is a cautionary tale. Blog posts with lots.

Liquid Sunshine: Refreshed
http://liquidsunshine-ck.blogspot.com/2010/04/refreshed.html
Living the Sunshiny Life of Music and Media. Thursday, April 1, 2010. Back from New Orleans trip #6. And it feels refreshed this time. As in previous. I was there to hang out with a smart, thoughtful, committed group of musicians about activism for a few days culminating in a fantastic rock show at One Eyed Jacks. Our opening night party at Mother-in-Law Lounge. Had the best pick-up band. Of all time with George Porter, Jr. Other highlights: meeting David Montana. Made the best dinner. At the Hi-Ho Lounge.

Break Out in the Bayou. Tour of the 9th Ward. Monday, March 1, 2010. By Point Park Student Activities. Today was our first full day in Louisiana. Most of us woke up around 7 am, which is much earlier than any of us would want to get up on a normal day let alone on spring break. As we slowly brought ourselves to life this morning we ate some breakfast, consisting of cereal, fruit, and bagels, and we had a short orientation from Habitat for Humanity. And the government wont let them build a new one, forcin...
