The Summerlin Family: Salvation 2
http://thesummerlinfamily.blogspot.com/2015/06/salvation-2.html
Thursday, June 25, 2015. It's a big year in the Summerlin home! Jared has followed his brother's footsteps and has chosen to follow Christ! The boys have been attending VBS this week at a local Baptist church. This evening, Jared told me that Jesus died on a cross, but then he came back to life and went to Heaven. I replied with, "I know! And he said, "How did you know that? And then he looked at the clock. "OK! I guess I'm going to Heaven now! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://thesummerlinfamily.blogspot.com/2014/06/marriage-advice-tip-3-keep-dating.html
Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Marriage Advice Tip 3: Keep Dating! This should actually be Tip 2.5 since I wasn't originally going to write about this. However, recent conversations with friends has shown me that this is more important than I realized. You have to set time to be together. To be adults. To be you. My best friend. We are not blaming each other. We are not fighting. We are united and that is because we are intentional and deliberate in growing our marriage. Improv in the Park- This is on the fir...

The Summerlin Family: Salvation
http://thesummerlinfamily.blogspot.com/2015/01/salvation.html
Monday, January 26, 2015. But that initial experience when I was 6 and the questions and doubts I had growing up led me to stay quiet in regards to Salvation in my home. We pray. We read the Bible. We go to church. I certainly want them to ask Christ into their lives, but I didn't want it to be for the wrong reasons and I had my doubts that it's something a child truly understands. At that time you will be given what to say,. For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father. For he chose us.

The Summerlin Family: Marriage Advice: Tips 1 and 2
http://thesummerlinfamily.blogspot.com/2014/05/marriage-advice-tips-1-and-2.html
Sunday, May 25, 2014. Marriage Advice: Tips 1 and 2. Yes, yes, it's important to listen to your spouse, but that's actually not my first tip. Listen to ALL THE PEOPLE. When Larry and I got married, we didn't have a list of elders we could turn to in order to ask the infamous: How have you stayed married for so long? Question. He actually does have some grandparents on his side of the family who have stayed married, but there were none on mine. That doesn't mean we didn't have advice! So, pray together...

The Summerlin Family: Jared's Heart
http://thesummerlinfamily.blogspot.com/2015/05/jareds-heart.html
Saturday, May 2, 2015. Was taking my baby from me. In reality, I cried for him while he was in the transition nursery and went every 10 minutes to check on him until he was in my arms. In reality, I decided to never again take pain medication during birth because I never again want to hear the words, "You can't come here to him. You've had the epidural." In reality, I love(d) him fiercely. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mrs Summerlin's Class Blog. Picture Window template. Powered by Blogger.

The Summerlin Family: 'Tis the Season
http://thesummerlinfamily.blogspot.com/2014/12/tis-season.html
Sunday, December 21, 2014. Several years ago when we had one child (maybe 2? I read an article in a parenting magazine by a mom of 2 boys. I don't recall all of the details- but her two boys told her they didn't want Christmas presents that year. Rather, they wanted to raise money to give to one of the third world organizations to provide families with goats and food and housing. I remember reading that and thinking, "THAT! That's what I want MY kids to be like.". Santa brings us presents! My children do...

The Summerlin Family: Happy Birthday, Isaac
http://thesummerlinfamily.blogspot.com/2015/07/happy-birthday-isaac.html
Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Happy Birthday, Isaac. Seven years ago you made me a mother and I am forever grateful for this opportunity. It's been quite a ride these past 7 years, but I don't think any have compared to this past year. When you were six, you accomplished so much. You have grown and changed from a small boy, to a young child and I am incredibly proud of the man I see forming before me. Holy cow, Isaac! I am so excited for you on this new stage of your life! All my love,.
