Wednesday, April 9, 2008. HOV Cheetahs and Jaguars. Some people think I shouldn't complain about HOV cheaters, because I drive HOV alone in my hybrid. But hey, if anyone else has a commute from my home locale to Arlington, 120 miles away, I'd be glad to carpool. I've checked the rideshare groups, and I have not found anyone yet. If you are a legitimate HOV driver, try to finish your HOV lane drive 2-5 minutes before the lanes open up to all, because people cheat and get into the lanes a few minutes early, because the police never enforce the rules that closely. I have saved a lot of driving time utilizing the HOV lanes along I-95 AND I-66 in Northern Virginia (NoVA), and I have seen the traffic imbalance that usually exists between the HOV lanes and the plebian lanes.
