Kat-Sur-Seine: Fes/Fez
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2010/02/fesfez.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Sunday, February 28, 2010. I was told to expect that Morocco be a huge culture shock for me, and it was - I thought I wouldn't be that fazed by it but it's so unlike anything I've ever experienced or imagined. But I was really excited too, of course. The airport was quite small but really clean and beautiful - lots of mosaics everywhere. For some reason I'd been expecting it to be huge and dusty and lots of donkeys roaming around freely. (? Usually cities trickle ...

http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Thursday, April 29, 2010. Well, back in l'australie, where the weather is fine and I understand what people say. Everything seems so familiar and so foreign all at once. It's been really good for me to get away and get some perspective, I really appreciate where I live more now. Things I will miss most about Paris and France:. My lovely new friends. Everything feeling exciting and new and undiscovered. My twelve hours (or less) per week job. Blah blah etc etc.

Kat-Sur-Seine: Marrakech/Essaouira
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2010/03/marrakechessaouira.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Monday, March 8, 2010. The food in these night stalls is excellent. Fresh seafood and meat and vegetables, grilled right in front of you with much sizzle and smoke and pizazz. Couscous and tagines and brochettes - oh my! I'm sure even the French wouldn't dare such a stunt.). Protests. But yes, it was certainly an experience. We couldn't figure out how they made the floor and the room so warm? Eating fish grilled in front of me at the Fish Souks. Yum. Buying more s...

Kat-Sur-Seine: November 2009
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Sunday, November 29, 2009. In other news, I went and saw Twilight 2 last night with some friends. I haven't seen or read any twilight before but the story isn't particularly hard to pick up! What more could a girl want from a movie though? And apart from that. pretty much just been in bed, or at school. On Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Been in bed sick for two days. which has been incredibly boring. being an invalid sucks when you don't have a tv. But I guess it's...

Anna in la Belle France: October 2009
http://annainlabellefrance.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Anna in la Belle France. Living in France (and teaching English too). Sunday, October 18, 2009. Protests, Paintings and Markets. After class I finished up my social security paperwork and job paperwork - so now I officially have health insurance and might actually get paid by the end of October! As I was walking toward the city center I was stopped by a man who handed me a sack with an apple, an onion and a whole bunch of wheat grains. Then he asked me to sign some form - I said I was American and he...

http://annainlabellefrance.blogspot.com/2010/05/sorry-for-delay.html
Anna in la Belle France. Living in France (and teaching English too). Friday, May 21, 2010. Sorry for the delay. So, a very short post to say that the vacation was amazing! 160;Now, I'm back in reality and dealing with closing out bank accounts (or not), and the CAF and all the other things that I signed up for. It's going surprisingly easy, but there is a ton to do. So, I'll do my vest best to finish the blog entry I started about my travels, but don't hold your breath! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Kat-Sur-Seine: December 2009
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Thursday, December 17, 2009. I can now officially scratch 'see snow' off my meteorological to-do list. Or in plainer English: I saw snow for the first time today! I'd read the forecast for snow a few days ago and was pretty excited about seeing it for the first time. I kept waking up in the middle of the night and getting up to peer through the window - snow yet? No is it snowing yet? Luckily was wearing shoes) and had to go to school to keep warm. I was bumme...

Anna in la Belle France: January 2010
http://annainlabellefrance.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Anna in la Belle France. Living in France (and teaching English too). Wednesday, January 20, 2010. And I have a serious case of the blahs. The snow has stopped, it's a little warmer (outside at least, but I'll get to that in a minute) but the rain and the general apathy is just really putting a damper on my post Christmas and NYE high. Except this week I got paid €13 plus a Turkish coin which looks exactly like a €2 coin - the good news: it's my first piece of Turkish money! The class I have yesterday mo...

Kat-Sur-Seine: January 2010
http://kat-sur-seine.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
English teaching assistant in france. On Thursday, January 28, 2010. Yes, it's a little bit past the true mid-winter, but don't rain on my parade. (Paris is taking care of me on that count anyway. Grey, grey, all the days. Rain, rain, go away.). So last week I went (for free! Have you been to the Petit Palais? Oh, no. not yet. I hear it's good though! Oh ok well have you been to the Madeleine? How about the flea markets at St Ouen? Nope not those yet either.". No But I've been to Notre Dame! Ducked down ...
