Dinner is usually served from 7.00pm. The following menus are to give you an idea. But the choices change daily. Chicken braised in white wine. New potatoes baked with olive oil and rock salt. Homemade chocolate bread pudding. Served with English Lakes ice cream. Parsley risotto with parmesan crisp (v). Tomatoes with spices and coconut (v). Howe Farm lamb chops. Breakfast is served between 7:00am and 9:30 am. The farmhouse has a cosy lounge with woodstove for the nights when you just want to curl up on the sofa and a light and airy dining room where both breakfast and dinner are served. Creamy porridge topped with Whisky and brown Sugar. Natural and fruit yoghurts. Full farmhouse breakfast with local sausage and bacon from Coniston and free range eggs. Manx kippers with homemade bread and butter. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Basket of homemade bread toasted.

Once we arrived in the city of Baalbek, we passed by the huge Blue and Gold Mosque below. Just beyond the mosque, we (joined by Johnny, Aura and Bliss) arrived at the Baalbek ruins and found ourselves practically alone and able to freely roam around. The highest peak in Lebanon (Qurnat as Sawda at 3,088m) can be seen through one of the temple openings below. The expanse of the entire complex of the Heliopolis (Temple of the Sun) including the Temples of Jupiter, Bacchus, Mercury, and Venus is incredible.
