Exploring the world of felting, colour and fabric. When I first started learning how to felt, I went on courses and read lots of books. Some did wet felting, some nuno felting.but no one covered the range of techniques for the beginner in a class or on a DVD. That I could take home. It was all a bit of a slow (and expensive! Way to learn going from class to class. Through creating finished projects that you can take home. So out of this problem, grew my Confident Felting DVD. If you would like to purchas...

Exploring the world of felting, colour and fabric. In Response to a Rose. The Colour Wheel In Felting →. April 6, 2011. For a long time with my felting I feel like I’ve been choosing colours which just aren’t me. That’s not to say I don’t like the colours, in fact I often do. But many of my felting projects are gifts for others. Like the hot pink organza nuno felt bag. I was very happy with how this turned out – but well hot pink is just not me! It makes the whole crafty experience are lot more enjoyable.

Exploring the world of felting, colour and fabric. Newer posts →. Riding Hats, pillboxes and felt. January 7, 2011. My 1920s inspired red felt hat. Many handmade markets sell gorgeous and lovingly created felt hats and scarfs. Its no surprise really that hats in particular are perfect for wet felting – the fibres mould beautifully into that 3D form to create a gorgeous looking hat. The typical day-to-day hat worn by many men in the past were felted, as were speciality hats like top hats and riding hats.

Exploring the world of felting, colour and fabric. The Colour Wheel In Felting. November 15, 2011. I taught a felting workshop the other weekend where we made nuno felt flowers and a little mobile phone case over a template. The day was, thankfully, warm and sunny so we could felt outside which was lovely. Here’s a few weblinks to useful colour wheel information:. My little purple bag (photograph right at the top) is always popular and it is so because of the complementary colour scheme I used, purple an...

It'll Be Reet. Life and loves of a woolly Lakeland bibliophile….baaaaaah! Wind the Bobbin Up. In the words of the nursery rhyme it is time for me to wind the bobbin up …. And bobbin suitably wound time to start on a new project. I have in my cloth stash a beautiful few yards of batik fabric that has been crying (sobbing, even weeping) to be made up. I also have a pattern (no cross and dot scaling required) for a top that is right up my street. Phew Cutting done. Its time for a bit of sewing. On Patterns ...

It'll Be Reet. Life and loves of a woolly Lakeland bibliophile….baaaaaah! Bank Holidays are for relaxing…. I could be cleaning paintwork….I could be cutting the garden back (first dry day for a while)…I could be re-grouting the bathroom … dusting … washing …. ironing …. BUT its a Bank Holiday and I am relaxing. Luverly. One is an old favourite. With wonderful articles, gorgeous photographs and witty columnists, including newbie Caz Graham whose voice will be familiar to anyone who listens to Farming Today.

It'll Be Reet. Life and loves of a woolly Lakeland bibliophile….baaaaaah! Newer posts →. Well I’ve done it. I am all upgraded and stuff. Although it maybe a reprieve rather than a full pardon from the Old Bailey of Techi-ness as there are still WordPress pages that I cannot access. Apparently my machinery is on the old side (know how it feels). Nonetheless for the time being at least I can keep blogging! Until next we meet (which we will), Moke x. Upgrading can be a risky business (is this just me? There...

It'll Be Reet. Life and loves of a woolly Lakeland bibliophile….baaaaaah! As you know little things please me. Something that is definitely not little however is monthly magazine. You may remember that I have talked about this super periodical before. We are very lucky to have such a high quality magazine celebrating our beautiful county. No surprise that I am a regular reader. In July I took a trip to Leeds to visit No 1 Daughter and No 1 Son. I carried with me the latest. Until next we meet, Moke x.

It'll Be Reet. Life and loves of a woolly Lakeland bibliophile….baaaaaah! Build Me Up Buttercup. When a friend at work mentioned that there was a local charity project to raise money by the sale of wool crafts I decided that I must find a way to beat the bus sickness blues. Practice first. I turned to an old favourite for inspiration,. With so much choice what to do? Start at the beginning with the easy crochet patterns and work my way through. Off we go. First the lovely Hellebore,. Pretty little thing&...
