Friday, October 28, 2011. Mushroom, Goat Cheese, and Spinach Omelet. What are you doing this weekend? Phil and I are having friends over again for dinner. They have three kids so I'm trying to think of some kid friendly dishes. Any suggestions? I'm also hoping to get outside to clean up the garden before winter. It's been so rainy lately I haven't had a chance. Of course you always have to make time for a leisurely breakfast where you can enjoy a cup of tea and read the newspaper. Happy Weekend! This dis...

The Pink Truffle: March 2012

Saturday, March 31, 2012. Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies. What a great way to start the weekend! Crunchy edges and soft centres, make this the perfect chocolate chip cookie. I asked my mom if I could borrow her electric mixer for this recipe. It's just one of those things I don't use since I don't bake much. As I was using it I felt very nostalgic, remembering my mom making lots of meringues and cheese muffins with that mixer. Recipe by Jim Lahey found in Bon Appetit Magazine. 3/4 Tsp of kosher salt.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Super Bowl Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Purple Slaw. Okay, that isn't actually the pulled pork pictured above, almost fooled you though. Ingredients for Cajun spice:. 1/4 Cup ground cayenne pepper. 2 Tbs ground black pepper. 2 Tbs onion powder. 2 Tbs garlic powder. Ingredients for the barbecue sauce:. 1 1/2 Cups of apple cider vinegar. While the...

The Pink Truffle: Breaded Chicken Fingers
http://thepinktruffle.blogspot.com/2012/03/breaded-chicken-fingers.html
Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Jane was in love with these! You can always tell when Jane is a big fan of something by the way she chomps and smacks her lips. She also does a little dance in her highchair. For the adults, add your favourite dipping sauce (we chose a sweet chilli sauce). When breading your chicken use separate hands for dry and wet ingredients or your fingers will look like this! 2 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips. 2 Tsp of mixed Italian dried herbs. 1 Tsp pf garlic powder.

The Pink Truffle: June 2011
http://thepinktruffle.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Aren't these peppers cute? Not only are they nice to look at, but their size is very convenient too. I often have half a pepper in the fridge wrapped and stored for later. These ones though are the perfect size for salads. And can you imagine these little guys stuffed. I might have to try that soon. Oh my gosh it's been way too long! Over three months, actually. I had no idea babies took up so much time! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. A CUP OF JO.

Salt and pepper to taste. 2 Limes, squeezed. Monday, August 29, 2011. Jane at 6 months. Jane tasted butternut squash for the first time and it was a success!

http://thepinktruffle.blogspot.com/2012/03/mexican-chorizo-and-potatro-tacos.html
Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Mexican Chorizo and Potato Tacos. Phil and I checked out the Hamilton Farmer's Market on the weekend. We were going to head East and go to the St. Lawrence Market, but at the last minute decided to try Hamilton. If it wasn't for Phil's parents telling us about all the good deals and how great it is we probably wouldn't have know about it. 2 Chorizo sausages, casings removed. 3/4 Cup of mushrooms, sliced. Half an onion, sliced. Half a red bell pepper, sliced. Easy to make too.
