http://hoxtonhandmade.blogspot.com/2009/05/bliss-hanne.html
Monday, 25 May 2009. Finished at last, here's Bliss (with a one-armed, not-great photo):. And this one shows the colour of the yarn a bit better:. Then Hanne, which is really hard to photograph and see it properly, but it gives you an idea. This is the mitered corner, fastened with a stitch holder, of all things:. And a vague idea of the front as a whole:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Knitter. Blogger. Electric Sheep Podcaster. General Rambler. View my complete profile. Photo by Roger Butterfield.
Hoxton Handmade: February 2009

Monday, 23 February 2009. We interrupt our scheduled programming. Anyway, I can't show you either for the time being, so what else can we talk about? It's all gone depressingly tame of late, with not a snowflake in sight. Given the lack of knitwear, I'll have to turn to this blog's other topic of choice, music. I'm currently enjoying Spotify. Although I'm still trying to work out why the hell it exists in the first place. It doesn't seem to have as many features, or the magazine look, of last.fm. But it'...

Sunday, 19 April 2009. Yarn on a Budget. I ventured out to the shops yesterday, thinking I might splurge on a little yarn for Knitty's Hanne. I needed 3 skeins of something colourful and variegated and three of something soft and plain, probably a grey alpaca. I couldn't face trekking all the way into town to John Lewis and thought I might find something more unusual over at Loop in Islington. And I have to confess I was hopelessly disappointed. Yes I know it's April. And sunny. And warm. And...Well I fi...
Hoxton Handmade: Post #100! Stitch 'n' Bitch
http://hoxtonhandmade.blogspot.com/2009/06/post-100-stitch-n-bitch.html
Sunday, 14 June 2009. It's the 100th post of this blog, so thank you very much for reading this far! As you probably know, yesterday was World Wide Knit In Public Day. In honour of the occasion the Stitchettes over at Stitch 'n' Bitch London organised a Knit Crawl, in aid of a prostate cancer charity. Given the manliness of the cause, they chose a moustache theme to match, meaning that many of the knitters spent the day sporting some seriously cool knitted facial hair. And very good they look too. ...

London, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. At Home Mommy Knits. Little House in the Big 'Burbs. Are you following me? Our plum tree has had so many fruit this summer, and as R is in NYC for work for a few weeks, there is no way I could eat them all. And I've given pounds of them away to friends already. So I made jam. 45 cups pitted plums. Juice of 1/4 lemon. In the meantime, this. Is my new project. Posted by Woolly Stuff. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

London, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. At Home Mommy Knits. Little House in the Big 'Burbs. Are you following me? We've been in the new flat for almost a month. It's finally starting to feel like home; hopefully the nightmare bit is over. Did I tell you that our estate agent deliberately misled us, and had a damp survey altered to hide the fact that the kitchen has a lot of damp? And this week, we put in a path (see the compost bin in the back, there? Next week, we should get some flowers.

London, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. At Home Mommy Knits. Little House in the Big 'Burbs. Yet another trip to Scotland. Are you following me? I had to frog Amber. Because even though I knit the smallest size, I was absolutely drowning in it. I've resized it, dropping the cast-on from 56 stitches per front and back, to 40 stitches per front and back. That's 32 stitches less than the pattern called for, in total! And it's just right, I think. Now all that's left is the cowl neck.

London, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. At Home Mommy Knits. Little House in the Big 'Burbs. Are you following me? Please promise me you will never use the slippery slope argument. It's just lazy and its only result can be maintaining the status quo. We don't live in the best of all possible worlds. Therefore, any issue of any importance will be a slippery slope. This doesn't mean people shouldn't take a stand. I'm now stepping off my soapbox. Back to knitting next post. Posted by Woolly Stuff.

London, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. At Home Mommy Knits. Little House in the Big 'Burbs. Are you following me? Has been so frustrating. First of all, since usually even the smallest sizes are too big for me, I knitted it in the smallest size on a slightly smaller needle. It came out way too small, and I had to rip it all back to nothing. There are so many nice details:. I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Posted by Woolly Stuff. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Some beautiful yarn, a card with her beautiful handwriting, and some chocolates. I couldn't take a picture of the yummy mini Ritter Sports, because. well you can probably figure out that they disappeared long before I got the camera out! Thank you, Siga! So, that was an absolutely lovely way to start the day.

Since I finished my last jumper, I haven't knit a thing. So in lieu of knitting news, I'll just show you an image of a lovely bird I saw yesterday (image from www.rspb.org.uk). It looked so exotic, I was impressed to learn that it's a bog-standard British bird: t he green woodpecker. Brown and white sheep at Church Farm.
