I think that this book is a good way to get ideas to use in the classroom. I like that the chapters are different topics for each step of a writing notebook. I really liked these articles i thought that they were an interesting idea of a unit topic that could include all different subjects. I really like the idea of the pirate journal where students keep up with with what they have found. And can use later when they are putting together their own pirate units. I would have never thought about using pirates as a unit topic and being able to tie in all the other subjects.

I don’t know where to begin! 8230;I guess a good starting point would be that I am a senior at Appalachian State University (go mountaineers). I can’t believe it! I still feel like a freshmen in high school. The years have flown by but they have been great. I have been able to spend my time doing the most amazing things: hiking, meeting new people, swimming in creeks, enjoying the Blue Ridge Parkway, and visiting TCBY for waffle cone Wednesdays. Theres no doubt that Boone is my second home. I love it!
