Before we get to part II, even 8 years later, the NFL is doing everything they can to try and get NE a non -* * title (ironically by doing so it just adds a potential 4th *). Denver up 7-0, gets a 3 and out except for an awful PI call that extends drive - 2 plays later Baltimore TD. There was both defensive holding (on Stokely) and PI on Decker on the Balt pick 6 - no flags. But this is the worst sequence.

THE COLUMN by HSS. Wednesday, October 2, 2013. THE FIELD HAS REACHED THE QUARTER POLE (well, almost). The "well, almost" is thanks to the two asinine week 4 byes that Green Bay and Carolina had. Is it really that difficult for the NFL to give 8 teams a bye in Weeks 7-10 or 8-11? And they can even schedule their moronic London games anytime in weeks 6-10 so the 2 teams get a bye the following week. So 4 weeks of the season we would only have 12 games instead of 9 weeks with anywhere from 13 to 15 games.
