Well we have finished the house sit. And are just about to continue with our nomadic lifestyle in Dipsey, but thought we should do a quick update before we set off to the South Island! We have spent the last 6 weeks living day to day - feeding the chickens and cats and enjoying the view, the trampoline and the sky movies that Ros, Kerry and the kids have at their house! So we both need to loose some weight now. We did have Christmas pudding! We have made a few trips into Auckland and visited Big Bay.

We arrived in Auckland at 6.30pm on the 31st October and were greeted at the airport by Mark, Helen and Ben Warren. Mark and Helen we have known for some time, but it was our first introduction to Ben, who is now eight months old! We went back to their house in Pukekohe where we were to stay for the following 2 weeks. The Warren hospitality was excellent and even Mark's bar-b-que skills were good! Across the bay from Auckland. We set of on our drive down the coast with 800km to do to get to the harbour, for the ferry to Hamilton Island. We stopped off overnight in a place called Ingham, approximately half way. Called into Townsville for lunch the next day and then arrived in Airlie Beach about 4pm. Airlie Beach. Which meant we had full kitchen facilities and decided to cook for ourselves! We left our very good B&B in Pukekohe and headed down to Wellington to catch the ferry to Picton in the South Island. We stopped in Picton. For a couple of nights - very pretty seaside town, much smaller than we had expected. There was a summer festival on over the couple of days we were there, with games and craft stalls on during the day and bands playing in the evening followed by a brilliant firework display.
