Johnny off X Factor. Reindeer grow new antlers every year, the antlers of old males fall off in December, for young males in the early spring, and for females, summer. Some reindeer can run at speeds up to 50mph and can travel as much as 3000 miles a year. The reindeer coat has two layers of fur, a dense woolly undercoat and longer-haired overcoat consisting of hollow, air-filled hairs. Reindeer live up to 13 years, though on average they only live 4 1/2.
