Sunday, April 27, 2014. Well, it is that time of year again and I am off on my 7. Annual spring Vespa fling. This year is monumental as I will be riding across the USA and part of Canada to reach Hyder, Alaska. There, I will turn around and head for New Orleans in the 2014 Scooter Cannonball, a “timed competition” (“don't call it a race”) with 45 other scooters. My fear is not the ride, but the cold. Lemurs, cute little things aren't they. Remember watching Zoboomafo when you were growing up? Well, sadly lemurs are now one of the most endangered primates in the whole world. They only live in Madagascar off the coast of Africa and their habitat is being destroyed rapidly by loggers and poachers. But our little friends need your help. They need a mule. No not that one. So, please help save my life and more importantly help the Lemur Conservation Foundation. Myakka City Lemur Reserve.

That is two in vespa talk). This should be short. I plan on only 4 or 5 days from Wenatchee, WA to Stewart, BC, Canada. Hyder, Alaska is not big enough to put up 40 riders and support personnel, so we are staying just across the border in Stewart. The Cannonball will start on the dock in Hyder. WOW, what a trip! There are so many highlights on this trip that I cannot even begin to narrow them down. From the. Flats to the Dysfunctional Family to the people of Helsey NE to the whole Scooter Cannonball crowd it was a fantastic. Of course missing the "bear" was a adventure all in itself.
