Huckcaptain Adventures

Monday, December 21, 2009. THE MOJAVE AND INTO THE BAY AREA. Saturday December 19, 2009. Just under 500 miles to go as I leave Kingman after sunup. This will be be a rather leisurely day. Over the Colorado and into California for a 2500 climb with the little engine that has thus far been working pretty hard this morning. The desert has it's own expansive beauty and it's perhaps the only place in California without lots of people and traffic. About 2580 miles and well worth the drive! First they tell you ...

http://huckcaptain.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 4, 2007. Over the Mtns to Death Valley. Adventures on Mountain Roads. I've been driving for a long time and have been up and down both the Rockies and the Appalachians several times without incident! Thinking about it though I've never really had the time to take the. Route much less traveled. Like I have on this trip! Remember those signs you see on mountain roads that say. Truckers use low gear. I crept over the precipice in second gear going 10 miles per hour! This hill was so long a...

Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Shellback Dinghy - Continued. March 7, 2009 It's Starting to look like a Dinghy! During my drive to Sturgeon Bay every week I have time to ponder many of life's dilemmas. I think about things like global warming, the economy, carbon dioxide in the air and whether with people like these guys in the species we really will be able to survive. Anyhow back to the Shellback Dinghy. All that red ain't mahagony! That's about it for another Saturday! Making a Shellback Dinghy - continued.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Completion of the Shellback Dinghy. July 14, 2009. Well, it's July and I've been absent from this site for awhile. The Dinghy is complete. It was a wonderful adventure though driving to Sturgeon Bay every weekend got a little tiring. Through March, April and May we continued to add laps and other parts to our project and watched and marveled as it became a boat. Progress continues and more and more people stop by to watch that progress. Some big and some little.
