Wholeschoolers: Maker Faire
http://wholeschoolers.blogspot.com/p/maker-faire.html
The Huckleberry Hill Project. This year one of my dreams was to have a table at the mini Maker Faire in Westport and for kids in our homeschool community bring things they have made. To that end I have hosted a technology class once a week and hopefully we will have some things to bring to the Faire in April. Claire and Blythe are making a super collar. Tristan is making a Minecraft rover that will be programmed to complete missions. Photos coming soon. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Crazy Year of Theatre.

Wholeschoolers: October 2013
http://wholeschoolers.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
The Huckleberry Hill Project. Friday, October 4, 2013. This year we have a wonderful French teacher, Elhem, coming to our house once a week to speak French (only) with my children. Next week they are making creme brûlée. He doesn't realize he is learning French as he bakes; he just thinks that he is having fun. The Potter School specializes in providing rigorous courses for homeschooled children. They have a large selection of classes and I thought we would try some out this year (Adobe Photoshop and...

Wholeschoolers: Mother's Day Pi
http://wholeschoolers.blogspot.com/2013/05/mothers-day-pi.html
The Huckleberry Hill Project. Sunday, May 12, 2013. For this Mother's Day I purchased this. I am still coming down off the high of the Maker Faire. And when Dale, the techie at the library showed me his Raspberry Pi displaying the library's catalog system, I couldn't resist testing it out for myself. I am excited about it. I want to see what it can do: experiment! I am going to push my envelope with code and find reasons to use it/write it and not be intimidated by it. I am going to teach my children...

Wholeschoolers: The Huckleberry Hill Project
http://wholeschoolers.blogspot.com/p/huckleberry-hill-project.html
The Huckleberry Hill Project. The Huckleberry Hill Project. We are hoping that such a far reaching project will not only model how we can impact our local communities positively but will provide a myriad of learning opportunities in the technology, medical, communication and networking professions. The children will work alongside the adults doing meaningful work as equal partners in the project, learning by doing. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Crazy Year of Theatre. Wholeschoolers: Academic Co-op
http://wholeschoolers.blogspot.com/2014/03/academic-co-op.html
The Huckleberry Hill Project. Thursday, March 6, 2014. I have so much to write about because I haven't been blogging for a year and it is hard to know where to start. The most profound change in our homeschooling life has been our attendance at an academic homeschooling co-op ( Phoenix. Our co-op at St Marguerite's. She still wanted time however to write her book and keep Lucky Tails running smoothly. In the honors program Claire does AP Biology, Biology labs, World Literature, World History, Algebra 1 a...

http://wholeschoolers.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
The Huckleberry Hill Project. Saturday, March 23, 2013. We are into our second week of robotics using the NXT micro controllers. We are using this book. And the rest of us do the best we can to assist in understanding the building instructions in the book and finding parts! Next week we finish programming the robots. Then of course we will film them accomplishing the first mission and take a lot of photos before dismantling the robots for the next challenge. It was a lot of fun to watch the boys ...Recen...
