hughbiquitous — Britain's Dim and Grim Carbon Fetish
http://hughbiquitous.com/post/8227017836/britains-dim-and-grim-carbon-fetish
All over the place with Hugh Williams. Britain's Dim and Grim Carbon Fetish ». Here’s what the Brits are saying about their “green energy” policy-makers:. I’m afraid we are in the hands of very dangerous children, upon whose deranged wishful thinking a large part of our country’s future depends. The fact is that so-called “green energy” is expensive to the point that only the richest of the rich can afford to heat their homes. As the London Times’ Matt Ridley said:. Ashley theme by Jxnblk.

All over the place with Hugh Williams. The worst thing about this “rapture” business. I’ve been taken back by the attention given to all this business about May 21 being the “rapture.” For those unfamiliar, a radio talk show host, Harold Camping, says he’s figured out that Jesus is returning to take his followers to heaven that day. The attention Camping has drawn seems out of proportion for who he is. For example: If he did not live, die, and rise from the dead, why are we still talking about him? As CS...

http://hughbiquitous.com/post/6086126875/cell-phones-are-no-more-carcinogenic-than-coffee
All over the place with Hugh Williams. Cell phones are no more carcinogenic than coffee. I’ve read about lots of studies showing no link at all between cell phones and health issues (besides quadrupling your odds of a car accident if you drive while using your phone), so my reaction was one of fair skepticism. I’d be surprised if a strong connection had been found. Via blogs.discovermagazine.com. Ashley theme by Jxnblk.

All over the place with Hugh Williams. Since the economics of civil lawsuits, especially patent lawsuits, prevent most cases against small defendants from ever getting near a court, the potential cost to society of issuing an invalid patent is massive. In practice, therefore, an issued patent is a valid patent as long as the patent-holder doesn’t try to sue anyone too large. (And even the largest corporations usually settle.). The Infield Fly Rule: Bibles cost more because Chinese people smoke
http://jjstables.blogspot.com/2007/05/bibles-cost-more-because-chinese-people.html
The Constitution of Controversy. A Crustier Shade of Blue. SHLOG by Shaun Groves. Thursday, May 03, 2007. Bibles cost more because Chinese people smoke. I don't know why. But I just like saying that sentence. Posted by Jeffrey J. Stables at 5:49 PM. Apparently, because cigarettes are made out of the same thin paper bibles are printed on. 9:06 AM, May 04, 2007. Yeah, weird huh? Small world it seems. 8:43 PM, May 04, 2007. Deep under the iron sea. Put some God in your Pod. How to save a life.

Thoughts from a lack of sleep. A blog about football, music, politics, grace and the lack thereof. Posted May 30, 2006 by bulldawgy. Grace and the lack thereof. We had a grand time yesterday playing softball at Ocee Park. I have always loved softball and baseball – and have been pretty intense about playing and doing well when playing. So, for the next two hours, I looked like a warrior from Braveheart. Seems like sometimes, my first intincts in relational reaction are as bad as the slide. How many t...

Thoughts from a lack of sleep. A blog about football, music, politics, grace and the lack thereof. Laquo; Please pray…. You Have Got To Be Kidding. Lest Anyone Should Wonder. Let it be known that the official position of this blogger is that God is the author and creator of life. He, by His Sovereign design, determines when life begins and when life ends. To that end, the act of aborting an unborn child in all instances where the life of the mother is not endangered is a sin – akin to murder. According t...

Choosing Joy April 24, 2008. Filed under: Daily walk. 8212; tracy @ 11:58 pm. I’ve been somewhat moody lately. I have great days and low days. Even though I know the root of it, and know I have nothing to do with it and can do nothing about it, I somehow still get trapped into a vicious thought-circle and sometimes have a hard time getting out. 8221;), when one of them asked if we were still going to read the Bible (we go through a book on the shorter catechism at bedtime). I cannot. Read them the Bible!
