Fungi-zette Newsletter, 23rd Issue
http://www.fungi-zette.com/mush23.htm
Twenty-third Issue, Fall season, 2008. Published about twice a year from Greenville, California. Findings, August 16 to December 9. Killing Larvae by Drying, and Lobster Mushrooms. Featured Mushroom, the Lyophyllum decastes. Click on any picture to see a larger image. This fall was probably one of the worse for collecting mushrooms up this, is the forest at least, and I think it was because of a combination of dry weather and very cold days. It also started late, but was expended by the lack of snow.

Sixteenth Issue, July 2005. Published about twice a year from Greenville, California. Findings, March 2 to June 13. Recipe for Heavenly Morel Tarts. Featured Mushroom, the Cortinarius magnivelatus. This year had a very wet spring. For some mushrooms it was a feast. We found lots of Snow Mushrooms ( Gyromitra montana. Black Morels ( Morchella elata. Spring King Boletes ( Boletus pinophilus. Amber Staining Agaricus ( Agaricus albolutescens). And more than a few Red-Capped Butter Boletes ( B. regius). In sh...

Twenty-seventh Issue, Fall to Winter, 2010. Published about twice a year from Greenville, California. Findings, August 15 - December 10. Featured mushroom, the Hygrophorus chrysodron. Click on any picture to see a larger image. This end of year season started slowly for us, fungi-wise, but the rains finally came and resulted in a short but productive season. This year I saw a few for the first time for me - a possible Tylopilus. And the Hygrophorus pudorinus. Findings, August 15 - December 10. At one of ...

Thursday, December 13, 2012. The Joy of Writer's Block. It has been ever so long since I have written anything – of merit or at all. My addled brain functioning not so much as an artist in suffering, but as a machine. Of survival, it moved along as an old pufferbelly whose wheels, by friction were made nearly impossible to move, and only with an incredible amount of energy thrown into the fire. I have what some call “writer’s block”. But what are these reasons for WrB? You have to go to work. Without goi...

September 25, 2012 · 2:10 pm. The origin of dry powder inhalers. Http:/ onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jps.2600601028/abstract. A good article and fascinating to see early work on these devices, that, in their modern incarnation, are now over 40 years old. But prior to this, if one delves into the patent literature, the Abbott “Aerohalor”(patent number: US2470297), reveals an earlier mention of using a second powdered ingredient to enhance the aerosolization of the drug.
