The Huli Cat chases Humboldt Squid. Also known as Jumbo Squid. This is generally done in deep water, something like over 1,000 feet deep! Most often, a pound and a half squid jig is used, such as those from Ahi. A two speed reel definitely helps bring up those big squid from the depths. In Half Moon Bay. Enjoys one of the most abundant Chinook (King) Salmon. Fisheries in the world. Because of its location, Half Moon Bay has excellent access to these King salmon, which can weigh between 5 and 50 lbs. In fact, during the early months of the season, the San Francisco charter boats make the long boat ride south to fish the waters off Half Moon Bay.
