What is a PAL? In Canada you need a valid Possession and Acquisition Licence. PAL) to be in possession of a firearm, including a borrowed firearm. Your licence must be valid for the class of firearm in your possession. The three classes are non-restricted (ordinary rifles and shotguns), restricted (primarily handguns), and prohibited. You must take the course and pass the CFSC exam in order to apply for a PAL. Challenge exams are no longer allowed in Canada. See our course information. Find us on facebook.
