La la la la, life goes on. In three hour increments. Sunday, September 12, 2010. A few of my favorite things. Fall-minded these days. Maybe because of my new lovelies. Fall clothes and shoes are the best colors: orange, brown, turquoise, plum, and emerald. I need some tights- not leggings. Or jeggings. God forbid. I need some tweed. I am in love with this. Herringbone jacket by Tucker for Target. I need to learn how to wear scarves. September 12, 2010 at 3:24 PM. September 20, 2010 at 8:53 PM. My one thi...

La la la la, life goes on. In three hour increments. Saturday, March 27, 2010. Before and After: Mirror, Mirror. I've had my eye on this mirror at an antique/junk store. Antique/junk stores are my favorite kind of store. If you can see the potential in something that, on the surface, looks like outdated junk, the world is your oyster in one of these shops (and if you can overlook the near horder-like condition of most of these places- crammed to the gills with dusty odds and ends). Here's what I look lik...

La la la la, life goes on. In three hour increments. Friday, September 23, 2011. So you're telling me that I'm supposed to leave this three-month old child- nay, baby-. With strangers for six hours a day? That's I'm supposed to hope that she will get a modicum of attention in a room of nine other babies, some sitting, some crawling, some that can't hold their own heads up yet? La la la la, life goes on. In three hour increments. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. That would be my Native American name. Or maybe "Mountain out of Molehill.". I positively worked myself into a lather about taking the baby to day care. By Sunday night, tossing and turning all night, I had convinced myself that Av would be in a situation little better than an Eastern Bloc orphanage. No interaction. No touching. Crying all day. Miserable without her mother. Make a good story. Har har. In My Blessed Nest.

La la la la, life goes on. In three hour increments. Friday, September 23, 2011. One, two, three. How did this happen? And then, gradually, things started to change. The mantle of "parent" went from being several sizes too large to starting to fit. I started to understand what all the fuss was about. Helps that this baby could not be more of an angel or be any cuter. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). La la la la, life goes on. In three hour increments. Thursday, July 22, 2010. Farmers' market in Monterey, California. I'm reading a book that is making it very difficult to eat. Thanks to the thoughtful arguments laid out in Eating Animals. By Jonathon Safran Foer, whose fiction I adore), I am thinking it's time to rethink meat. What is the long-term side effect for humans eating them? But what if not everyone in your family wants to go vegetarian or go out of their way to find local chickens or beef?

La la la la, life goes on. In three hour increments. Saturday, June 26, 2010. I got my eyebrows threaded yesterday, something I like to do from time to time. It's more of a shaping exercise than a plucking one. And man alive, does it hurt. But the process is fascinating enough that maybe that allays the pain a bit. You have to admit, my eyebrow game is fierce. What do you think of my braids? Friday, June 25, 2010. You could be a farmer in those clothes. California: lay down on a towel; 32-oz Diet Coke, p...
