A miniatiarized dialysis machine called the WAK ( Wearable Artificial Kidney. Begins a clinical trial in Seattle this week. This portable dialysis machine gives kidney failure patients independence from being tethered to a large dialysis machine in a dialysis center three days per week. The FDA has given the safety trial the green light.
