Bye bye Kumble | ________________

You think you’re thin? Try a mental diet →. January 7, 2011. One of the most revealing stories I heard about a cricketer came from one of my professors in engineering college, which also happened to be Anil Kumble’s alma mater. In 1990 Kumble had to miss a considerable portion of his semester because of his debut tour to England. On his return, he was asked by the head of the department why he had missed so many days of college. I was reminded of this story a few days ago when Kumble announced that he’s ...

Cricketkeeper: Lehmann proves he's no lemon as a coach
http://cricketkeeper.blogspot.com/2013/07/lehmann-proves-hes-no-lemon-as-coach.html
Thursday, July 18, 2013. Lehmann proves he's no lemon as a coach. Darren Lehmann's selections for the first Test at Trent Bridge were brave and successful without exception. Now we will see if the changes he has made for the second Test starting Thursday prove equally effective. The other change is Ryan Harris for Mitchell Starc. This too is justified by Starc's poor showing with the new ball in the first Test. Harris, though, hasn't been the same bowler after picking up one injury after another&...Whate...

Cricketkeeper: Can the flair of a resurgent Brazil unlock the tiki-taka midfield of a tired Spain?
http://cricketkeeper.blogspot.com/2013/06/can-flair-of-resurgent-brazil-unlock.html
Sunday, June 30, 2013. Can the flair of a resurgent Brazil unlock the tiki-taka midfield of a tired Spain? Even if Brazil come up short in Sunday night's Confederations Cup final, it will be an opportunity for Scolari to test some tactics to unsettle the Spanish Armada of Xavi, Iniesta, Silva and the like in midfield. Everyone knows by now what the Spaniards do, but just haven't found a key to unlock their midfield, nor the training system to replicate their game, yet. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Solitary Meanderer: September 2005
http://solitarymeanderer.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 29, 2005. Since yesterday I am feeling very happy. Frankly speaking even I dont know what might be the reason. Wait a minute! I think I have a vague idea. There's a book 'Zorba The Greek'. I think there has been a transformation within me. Ever since I read the book I have always aspired to be like Zorba but since yesterday I am feeling as if I AM ZORBA. I don't know what or who prompted this change but I am happy. By William Ernst Henley. Out of the night that covers me,. I am in off...

Solitary Meanderer: October 2005

Sunday, October 30, 2005. Question Of Buying A Laptop. I am a game freak and have often spent sleepless nights just playing those pc games. But things were to change. As both mom and sis are early-to-bed kinds of, so they wouldn't hear of my staying in their room when they had retired to sleep. Considering the price of the lappy in comparison to what I earn, which I will tell you later, I am sure you must be thinking that I am mad. What an outrageously impulsive guy I am. Cricketkeeper: Et tu, Wimbledon? Then rise, cricket!
http://cricketkeeper.blogspot.com/2013/07/et-tu-wimbledon-then-rise-cricket_3998.html
Monday, July 8, 2013. Et tu, Wimbledon? Then rise, cricket! Now it's the other way round. The French have taken over the world of tennis. Long rallies are what every tournament wants, and the extra TV time and ad revenue that come with it. The Australian Open was the first to become almost indistinguishable from the French Open, except for the colour of the court. The US Open surface too turned more sluggish by the year. It was only Wimbledon that held out for a while. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Considered Cricket Analysis From Beyond the Boundary. April 29, 2011. The two masterminds of West Indian cricket's rise. Clive Lloyd is on the left. When I was 13 years old in the hot, hot, hot summer of 1976, I wanted to be Michael Holding – to run like that, to bowl so straight, so fast and (sometimes) so short, to be a Ferrari in a 1970s world of Ford Anglias. We are soon transported to the gladiatorial contest that was the 1975-6 tour to Australia. Big Clive’s young West Indian side were de...Is set ...
