After many years operating from a few shelves in the basement of the Holy Cross rectory, the decision was made in 2008, in anticipation of the coming recession, to move the shelves to a more accessible space, to make its availability and location better known, and to expand its hours of service. Late in 2008, the Colchester Food Shelf registered as a Network Partner of the Vermont Foodbank.
