Roots of the Passion. The Power of a Passion. A Driven Passion For Haute Cuisine. January 7, 2012. Recently we were invited to do a dinner at Paradise Farms in Homestead Florida. The best way to describe what Paradise Farms is its a smaller more hippy version of Chefs Garden in Ohio. They grow everything from vegetables, lettuces, herbs, flowers, to star fruit and squash. My Favorite part of the day was being able to just go out and forage whatever we wanted to use for that nights menu. Chef Joel went ar...

That is the word for breakfast. Like in roman times. With gladiators and aqueducts. I' ve been reading about roman cuisine. And elsewhere in books. Made out of paper. Roman cuisine has a lot of charm to it. I see roman culture as the first serious attempt in civilisation to live lavishly and in luxury. And not only the people on top do this but also those in inferior social strata. They get porridge and sewer-rats. If they are lucky. Anyway i stumbled upon a description of a meal eaten for breakfast.

Now don't think that we didn't also have some great food at home in Toronto. We sure did! Again, another place with great service, which made the evening despite the cranky pants fella at the table next to us. I have a lot of business lunches and the...
