Dean and Allyson Wood, with their son Blaine, went to visit Mound Fort, a birthplace of one of Allyson's Great-Grandfathers on a sunny day in August 2010. Hunt for Mound Fort. Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Close to the Rocky Mountains, still some areas are Wooded. In Ogden, marked with road signs 10th and Childs, Mound Fort has been swallowed up in the current city. To the East you will find the beautiful Rocky Mountains, and to the west you will find an area of nature as the hill descends quickly to the area a distance below. Surrounded now by homes and the church house, very little sign is left of what the Pioneers would have seen. LDS Mound Fort Wardhouse.
