Because it's a hodge podge of influences from The Ramones and The Buzzcocks to The Clash and The Cure. They got progressively more keyboard-heavy, progressively more pretentious and less politically aware and thus progressively worse. Their last album (pre-reunion.I can't count those) Corazones.
