Blamerbell Briefs: Big fat amnesty event
http://blamerbellbriefs.blogspot.com/2007/06/big-fat-amnesty-event.html
A blogespondent for the Welsh lobby. Big fat amnesty event. Friday, June 22, 2007. Sausage roll and wine in a box gathering to keep Rhodri Glyn Thomas nourished and lubricated, I hear you cry. Instead, it's my somewhat novel and absolutely not likely to happen suggestion to clear the air if or when the assembly gets full law-making powers and twenty extra members. Over the last tortuous couple of months, one thing has become abundantly clear: some AMs are in the wrong political party. More recently, it s...

Blamerbell Briefs: Britain's got boring
http://blamerbellbriefs.blogspot.com/2007/06/britains-got-boring.html
A blogespondent for the Welsh lobby. Saturday, June 23, 2007. Pol Pot singing Nessun Dorma? Now, that really would be a must-see. Firstly, he'd have to rise from the grave (an achievement matched only in showbiz by Bob Monkhouse's apparent ability to be funnier dead than alive), and secondly, whatever you think about his politics, the act would at least be different. Absolutely the worst aspect of this phenomenon, however, is its one trick ponyness which is, frankly, driving me potty. Nessun Dorma' trans...

Blamerbell Briefs: Rumours, Whispers, Gossip
http://blamerbellbriefs.blogspot.com/2007/05/rumours-whispers-gossip.html
A blogespondent for the Welsh lobby. Rumours, Whispers, Gossip. Thursday, May 03, 2007. Plonk them in the comments or an email and I shall, in turn, plonk them in here. Another plug from Huw Edwards. Something about blogs being written by incontinent saddos. Definition of incontinent: 'lacking in moderation or self-control, esp. of sexual desire.' Oh dear, good job my mum isn't watching. Plug from Huw Edwards. He obviously doesn't know what a blog is:). Islwyn safe. Upset in 1999, not in 2007. Hey Huw lo...

Blamerbell Briefs: The Blamers 2007 - A star-bereft award ceremony
http://blamerbellbriefs.blogspot.com/2007/06/blamers-2007-star-bereft-award-ceremony.html
A blogespondent for the Welsh lobby. The Blamers 2007 - A star-bereft award ceremony. Sunday, June 24, 2007. The more prescient among you may have come across whispers. In some far-flung corner of the internet hinting that this blog will soon be following Tony Blair into retirement. These whispers have some truth, because I started them. (As Peter Black writes. Today, why would cheeky Wales on Sunday Journalist Matt Withers find his own stories when he can just pinch them from someone else? JM's own offe...

Blamerbell Briefs: January 2007
http://blamerbellbriefs.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
A blogespondent for the Welsh lobby. Tories must come clean on Tax. Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Welsh Conservatives have been snarling at Labour over council tax for some time. Today, they revealed the full scale of the outrage that followed the controversial revaluation of homes in 2003. There were upwards of 30,000 appeals in total, with almost 20,000 resulting in a band change. Let's take a look at their website. Is that still the case? If so, which public services would they cut? Links to this post.

Blamerbell Briefs: Sunday lunch coalition update
http://blamerbellbriefs.blogspot.com/2007/05/sunday-lunch-coalition-update.html
A blogespondent for the Welsh lobby. Sunday lunch coalition update. Sunday, May 06, 2007. We've just learnt a lot more about what sort of shape the government of Wales might take. Thanks to the BBC, of course. Bloody hell, he's only gone and read this blog between finishing the Politics Show and appearing on S4C's Maniffesto programme. Speaking in Welsh, he said that for him, the dealbreaker would be a referendum on Scottish style powers to further the cause of devolution. I suspect other Plaid A...The L...

Blamerbell Briefs: The End
http://blamerbellbriefs.blogspot.com/2007/06/end.html
A blogespondent for the Welsh lobby. Tuesday, June 26, 2007. I had hoped to bring you news of a potentially historic step forward for Welsh politics. But as usual, the politicians have contrived to delay proceedings. Plaid's assembly group was due to meet today to make a final decision on whether to recommend a Rainbow or a Red-Green coalition to its National Council on July 7. However, they've decided to postpone that meeting until tomorrow because Labour's Welsh Executive meets this evening. But there'...

Blamerbell Briefs: Farcembly?
http://blamerbellbriefs.blogspot.com/2007/06/farcembly.html
A blogespondent for the Welsh lobby. Thursday, June 21, 2007. Today's twist: Labour MPs have told. Rhodri to cut out his after dark soirees with Adam Price and IWJ and snuggle up to Mike German and the Lib Dems instead. The Western Mail's Tomos Livingstone is now predicting. A Rainbow coalition will rise from the ashes of the Red-Green talks, while Peter Black says. Everyone should get a move on. No committees, for instance, so Thursdays are just used for filing fan mail and eating subsidised lunches.
