Says, "from January 19th until February 9th for remodeling.". I thought maybe I just wasn't paying attention, so I went back to the City Council Minutes to see where I went wrong. In the December 2, 2008 minutes. The December 16th minutes aren't posted. There is no mention of a closure in the January 6th minutes. The January 20th minutes aren't available yet.

This particular meeting kicked up a lot of dust in town because the City Council invited the Lake County Sheriff’s office to present a proposal on assuming police responsibilities for the city. Goings on around town in Highwood, Illinois. How about this one? Why don't we have a public service Spring Cleaning Day? I don't know what the ratio of city to servicepeople was, but it didn't feel high enough. I'm all for the servicepeople and the city residents and the businesses and the government all working together; but if they aren't all working together in equal amounts then some groups are getting a raw deal. Okay, that was a little too much background. We could do it the first weekend in May.

Goings on around town in Highwood, Illinois. It's been a rough summer. The weather was not great and I was very busy. I let my garden go to seed. Over the weekend, I decided it was time to stop dreading the brambles and see what I could salvage. It wasn't all that bad. I harvested a few tomatoes for sauce and about a quart of raspberries.
