Black Metal Yesteryear: #132 Thoraxembalmer - Darkness Beneath
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/10/132-thoraxembalmer-darkness-beneath.html
Saturday, 15 October 2016. 132 Thoraxembalmer - Darkness Beneath. A rather bizarre submission that I found online many years ago that I actually had backed up onto a flash drive, this is the only full length by England's bizarrely named Thoraxembalmer. Initial glances at the m-a. For the most part, Thoraxembalmer is generic black metal with really fast drums, and hoarse vocals. It's produced terribly though, and this is really only worth downloading. From The Back Of The Tape Rack. Bacchia Neraida - Ermis.

Black Metal Yesteryear: #138 Dimhöljd - Erase Mankind
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/11/138-dimholjd-erase-mankind.html
Saturday, 12 November 2016. 138 Dimhöljd - Erase Mankind. Sorry about the sub-par 192 or so bitrate. This isn't my rip, and it's the only version of this I've ever been able to get my hands on. Truth be told, I've never been a fan of Swedish black metal (with very few obscure exceptions - more on that later this month). This particular tome of destruction carries me through many a cold and miserable night. I'm comfortable. That you'll find the exact same thing. Results may vary. 15 November 2016 at 03:27.

Black Metal Yesteryear: #142 Tryskellion - Sur Le Passage de L'ankou
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/11/142-tryskellion-sur-le-passage-de-lankou.html
Sunday, 13 November 2016. 142 Tryskellion - Sur Le Passage de L'ankou. I'm far too tired, cold, and grumpy to perform the usual write-up, but as I was heading to sleep, I was reminded of this classic from my good friend Borderline1991. I'd classify this as medieval/pagan black metal - it basically sounds like the album cover looks. It's dedicated. To walking the passage of death (Ankou, as most of you will know is the Breton / Norman / Kernow personification of death itself). 14 November 2016 at 02:00.

Black Metal Yesteryear: #134 Malesanctus - Emen Hetan Sargatanas
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/10/134-malesanctus-emen-hetan-sargatanas.html
Monday, 24 October 2016. 134 Malesanctus - Emen Hetan Sargatanas. Bit rate : 192. Generally, when a French black metal band has released a demo, full-length, and/or live recording, there's some semblance of familiarity to said project. Not so much with Malesanctus, who seem to have managed to escape the murky, yet rewarding depths of file-sharing. I recall getting this on Soulseek some years ago, but the person who supplied it is long forgotten in the annals of time. Let's honor. 24 October 2016 at 18:57.

Black Metal Yesteryear: #141 Trist Vintry Vandre - Demo '02
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/11/141-trist-vintry-vandre-demo-02.html
Saturday, 12 November 2016. 141 Trist Vintry Vandre - Demo '02. It appears that the "Demo 2003" material I posted on the previous blog was an unofficial release, with some of the same tracks as on here. This is the only official release by the group, and it comes with a few pieces not previously posted. This is a rip from the tape that I had a while back, and is in glorious 320 vbr. NS warning for those of you requiring safe spaces. The tracks on here missing from the earlier rip are "Intro", " Sevfyr.

Black Metal Yesteryear: #129 Casket Lair - Ancient Curse
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/10/casket-lair-ancient-curse.html
Tuesday, 4 October 2016. 129 Casket Lair - Ancient Curse. Source - Own Rip by me. By my own admission, when it comes to write-ups, I either know what I am talking about, or I don't. This is one where I probably don't, so it's best to say little about it. Maybe I can leave it to Velkaarn. Who is an expert at all things Finnish. 6 October 2016 at 06:29. Too new for Velkaarn! Haha just kidding, cool demo, me likey. 9 October 2016 at 20:28. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 156 Malesanctus - Live in Bullion.

Black Metal Yesteryear: #145 Templum - Pu Llawfen Ellkawi
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/12/145-templum-pu-llawfen-ellkawi.html
Sunday, 25 December 2016. 145 Templum - Pu Llawfen Ellkawi. Apparently I lost track of time and didn't realise quite how long it's been since the last post - oops! Let's get the wheels back onto the wagon; but before we do - time for a few observations. Who cares, this Whiskey is good *Hic! Now, onto this contribution itself. This is the first demo from one of Brazil's finest hordes. Released way back in 1995, it wasn't until 2003 that any further material from Templum surfaced. Listening to ...As with a...

Black Metal Yesteryear: #135 Via Dolorosa - S.S Vir Alle
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/10/135-via-dolorosa-ss-vir-alle.html
Monday, 24 October 2016. 135 Via Dolorosa - S.S Vir Alle. Bit rate : 320. Source : Own Rip. I've sat on this one for a while, as I don't want this one band to outweigh anything else on the archives of BMYY. There's quite an ask for early / rare VD material however, and this is probably the best candidate I'll ever supply. This is the second ever demo. The outro is a recording of Sieg Heil Viktoria - one of the SS' most infamous anthems. Yawn. 25 October 2016 at 07:49. 2 November 2016 at 16:50. Sarkel - T...

Black Metal Yesteryear: #144 Nathicana - The Redolent Herald of Midnight
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/11/144-nathicana-redolent-herald-of.html
Sunday, 27 November 2016. 144 Nathicana - The Redolent Herald of Midnight. Occasionally, I see it fit to repost something rare that made it onto other blogs and sites, but to little fanfare. This is unarguably one such release. Featuring members of Basiliskk, Horn ov Valere, Othendara, and similar, Nathicana is heavily influenced by the lore of HP Lovecraft. What makes this exceptional (and I really believe that this is the most outstanding band I've discovered since the blog went live - quote me on that!

Black Metal Yesteryear: #136 Cernunnos - The Forgotten Age of Heathenism
http://bmyesteryear.blogspot.com/2016/10/136-cernunnos-forgotten-age-of.html
Saturday, 29 October 2016. 136 Cernunnos - The Forgotten Age of Heathenism. I've had this a few years, and recall trading it via a series of CD-R exchanges, maybe circa 2006? Either way, I understand this is still somewhat of a lost recording, on numerous "wants lists". I think it's been worth the re-discovery. I won't spoil the mystery of this release too much by harping on about how it sounds, but it has a sheen and finesse. To it that I think will greatly appeal to many of you. Bacchia Neraida - Ermis.
