Hypnagogue Podcast: January 2012
http://hypnagoguepodcast.blogspot.com/2012/01
Ninety-minute journeys into the worlds of ambient, electronic and New Age music, every two weeks. Hosted by John Shanahan of the Hypnagogue review site. Thursday, January 26, 2012. An uninterrupted flow this time, and a dark one. Not the threatening, grab-you-by-the-throat kind of dark ambient (well, mostly not) but definitely with just enough lurking in the shadows to make you wonder if you're actually alone. Did you lock the door? Sky Burial, "Refractions from the Rift," Threnody for Collapsing Suns.

Saturday, November 8, 2014. Oliver Arditi on Blake Pieces. Posted by Tom DePlonty. The only possible response to Blake’s unparaphrasable writing is a further articulation of experience; DePlonty offers one that is both whole, and ‘divided in form of a Human Heart’. Although this is a wondrous and interesting thing to hear for a few minutes, it is not an unalloyed pleasure in larger doses. In my case the recital stage was an oak tree only twenty-five or thirty feet from my bedroom window - did I mention they are very loud? Eventually it moved on. Maybe it found a mate. Light and Get Away: About
http://tom.deplonty.com/p/portrait.html
Posted by Tom DePlonty. I'm a composer and pianist living near the Boston area, who writes mostly electronic music. I've worked for a long time with my friend, the composer Tim Risher, as part of Paragaté, a fluid group that Tim started in the late 1980s. Our thirty-year collaboration has been a big influence on me. Others threads are a lifetime of close listening to many kinds of music, and training in composition, piano, and chamber music. From time to time things get weird. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Thought provoking, if you choose to think about it, this is nevertheless an album for sensual enjoyment, a beautiful and intelligent work of art that lives up to the high creative standards already associated with the name Paragaté. Read Oliver Arditi's thoughts. On the latest Paragaté album, Pattern of Light.
Light and Get Away: Blake Pieces
http://tom.deplonty.com/p/blake-pieces.html
Posted by Tom DePlonty. In the late 1980s, I thought about writing a set of songs, or an oratorio, using words from William Blake's poem The Book of Urizen. Is Blake's version of The Fall, written in the voice of a prophet. I was never able to finish the piece, which was out of my reach for a lot of reasons. It's hard to write music with the intensity and pacing to carry that voice, for one thing. It didn't get further than a collection of sketches. After finishing Music for Michael Skrtic. I live near B...

Mot de passe :. J'ai oublié mon mot de passe. Propre aux états de semi-conscience ou aux troubles psychiques qui précèdent le sommeil normal ou qui lui succèdent. État, illusion, image hypnagogique. I really can't believe how well the E-Reader is working for me. i mean, i really really really can't! I am death to electronics, and if there is a way to screw something up on a computer? Your guide to new worlds of music. August 12, 2015. When I started this episode, it was going to be one where we stop in the middle, between the new and old sections, like we have been. But from the Chords of Orion track on, the show fell into a deep flow that I didn’t feel like interrupting. So away we go. Sorry about the throat clearing in the outro. Forgot to edit.
