THE TOWN OF HYTHE IN THE DISTRICT OF SHEPWAY. The Court of Shepway was established less than a century after the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Charter of Edward I (reigned 1042-66) records that the King's Court was formed to handle any disputes between the Cinque Ports (then Dover, Sandwich, Romney, Hastings, and Hythe ), which the individual boroughs couldn't settle between themselves. A floating extravaganza of family fun with a procession of decorated floats, live music, entertainment and fireworks at dusk. Events start at 5pm followed by p. The Special Last Service was. June 26, 2011 at 4:00 pm. A service to deconsecrate the Hythe United Church building was held in the Church on Sunday June 26th, 2011 followed by a wonderful potluck supper. A Methodist congregation began ministry in the area in 1914 and the basement of the present building was dedicated on July 13, 1930 for worship services. The building was completed in 1947.
