When Patrick woke from his afternoon sleep we walked down the back yard of my parent's house to find a magpie or two, and throw some bread at them. Ongoing prognostications on life as a human being. Friday, 16 April 2010. Yesterday (Thursday 15th): 43 mangoes. Today (Friday 16th): 33 mangoes. Yesterday: plenty of smoothies, and we tried our first dish of chicken in mango and soy sauce. With very large macaroni pasta. Delicious! Though Sam reckons it needed more soy sauce . too sweet). Ongoing prognostications on life as a human being. Sunday, 5 April 2009. Two and a half years ago I was asked to take on leadership for InnerChanges Cambodia team. I dont think anyone can be offered such a thing and not feel a measure of pride. I certainly experienced that. But simultaneously I felt fear of such a task. Ongoing prognostications on life as a human being. Thursday, 31 December 2009. Converting a paper book into an ebook using Ubuntu. My task today, as the title says, is to convert a paper book into a text-searchable ebook on Ubuntu (a Linux-based OS). I'm using an HP G60 Intel Core2Duo using Ubuntu Jaunty 64-bit. My plan is to:. 1 scan the book (about 100 pages) using Xsane scanner with my Epson Stylus CX3100 (old machine that she is) into TIFF files at 300 dpi. Manual copy-and-paste will be really tedious.

Steve Wineman looks at the political implications of trauma in nonviolent resistance, suggesting that trauma has its effects on both the politics of the left and the right. The left projects trauma onto systems and structures and push for social change using rage. The right projects trauma onto individuals and groups from minorities, thereby scapegoating them.
