My husband's father was 63, his aunt is about 78; his uncle was about 72 when diagnosed. My husband had a stomach ultrasound approximately 4 years ago. It can run in the family but it does not mean that you will have thyroid cancer. What you want to do is take your family medical history to your doctor and be tested yearly for irregularites of the thyroid. What do you mean by born without a thyroid?
