http://agedparentsgrandadventure.blogspot.com/2009/05/we-dont-like-flying.html
Aged Parents Grand Adventure. Tony and Chriss 40th Anniversary Present to themselves. Wednesday, May 13, 2009. We don't like flying. 1 Travel agent contacted Quantas when ordering the flight to ensure gluten free meal for Chris and extra legroom for me. 2 All confirmed on March 17. 3 We emailed the airline in Australia, after the first mess of a flight. 4 They responded to this advising us to ring their free help line number and Chris confirmed yet again that we needed a Gluten free diet and extra legroom.

Not sure how we are going to fit it all in - but we will! Locomotive driving - almost booked! Why did we think we could see New York in 2 days? We may have to return! Tony is looking forward to riding the SLUT! More on this later! Labels: There is not enough time. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Aged Parents Grand Adventure: Final days in Melbourne
http://agedparentsgrandadventure.blogspot.com/2009/05/final-days-in-melbourne.html
Aged Parents Grand Adventure. Tony and Chriss 40th Anniversary Present to themselves. Sunday, May 10, 2009. Final days in Melbourne. In the evening we went back to the Rosstown Tavern for yet another great meal, this time we were in the Bistro, it’s a bit like a canteen, you book a table, and when the counter opens at 6pm, everyone rushes up to place their orders. In the evening we met Dan at a pub called The Retreat, it is in the suburbs and has a number of mementoes from the Australian series The Sulli...

Aged Parents Grand Adventure: April 2009
http://agedparentsgrandadventure.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Aged Parents Grand Adventure. Tony and Chriss 40th Anniversary Present to themselves. Thursday, April 30, 2009. When we were planning our trip to Oz we got in touch with Tony’s cousin Susan, who lives in Dandenong just outside Melbourne and planned on meeting up during our visit. Tony and Susan are really second cousins as their grandmothers Florence and Doris were sisters, but we think of them as cousins. We passed many of the architectural glories of Melbourne including St Kilda where the houses are ei...

Aged Parents Grand Adventure: From Melbourne to Canberra and Back
http://agedparentsgrandadventure.blogspot.com/2009/05/another-little-adventure.html
Aged Parents Grand Adventure. Tony and Chriss 40th Anniversary Present to themselves. Saturday, May 9, 2009. From Melbourne to Canberra and Back. On Monday we started our little adventure around a small, very small part of Australia. We piled into Dan’s brother’s car, they had swapped cars for the week as Lachlan’s is bigger than Maddie and Dan’s, and drove out of Melbourne to join the Hume Highway driving north towards New South Wales. After half an hour we left to go on to Buller winery, another fantas...

Aged Parents Grand Adventure: Sacramento
http://agedparentsgrandadventure.blogspot.com/2009/06/sacramento.html
Aged Parents Grand Adventure. Tony and Chriss 40th Anniversary Present to themselves. Wednesday, June 3, 2009. We picked up the car, but it was not the expected model, we were told it was the equivalent! Read the small print! We do not recommend anyone to buy a Hyundai Accent, especially the base model; it is a very small car, especially for us two! It did not have central locking and only has a meagre 10 gallon (American gallons at that! Tank, so the petrol disappears fast! When we arrived in Sacramento...

Aged Parents Grand Adventure: Sacramento to Portola
http://agedparentsgrandadventure.blogspot.com/2009/06/sacramento-to-portola.html
Aged Parents Grand Adventure. Tony and Chriss 40th Anniversary Present to themselves. Friday, June 26, 2009. We left Sacramento – after checking out of the Raddison – and still chuckling over the bomb we hoped we had left for our noisy neighbours – set off with TomTom taking us back to the cafe in Roseville. We did not have the ham and eggs! But a much smaller breakfast which was still very filling before we continued up the Sacramento valley towards Oroville. Continuing up the flat plain we passed the s...

Albums of the year 2009. As tradition dictates, it's that time of year when we make a list of our favourite cultural artefacts from the past year, and list them in an order of merit. So this is my list, a top five followed by a random selection of albums that I dug, and will continue to dig. 1 The Very Best - The Warm Heart of Africa. The Very Best (Esau Mwamwaya and Radioclit) with Ezra Koenig "Warm Heart of Africa" LIVE in NYC. 2 Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion. 3 Dan Deacon - Bromst.
