Iains PhotoBlog: September 2011
http://iainsphotoblog.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Monday, 26 September 2011. Making the most of an extra day off. The open road looking towards Belmont village. It's Monday, after a week off work. but after dropping Carole off at the station for her Monday morning commute to Manchester, I'm off for a first stop at the gym with plans for a long walk in the sunshine afterwards. And whilst this isn't such an onerous task these days I'd nevertheless earned the right to my time back. A dramatic windswept moorland scene near Belmont. I'd parked here to make a...

Iains PhotoBlog: My first book deal!
http://iainsphotoblog.blogspot.com/2011/09/my-first-book-deal.html
Wednesday, 14 September 2011. My first book deal! Just occasionally something unexpected comes along totally out of the blue that's a nice surprise. So it was when I received an email from a publishing company in Lancaster last month seeking permission to use one of my photos for the cover of a book they were looking to publish! Iain's Photos: What you looking at?
http://iainsphotos.blogspot.com/2011/01/what-you-looking-at.html
Sunday, 30 January 2011. What you looking at? This little creature came towards the camera to stare us down whilst on a visit to Towneley Hall. What you looking at? F50, 1/250s, 210mm lens, ISO2000. Iain's Photos: More abstracts
http://iainsphotos.blogspot.com/2011/03/more-abstracts.html
Wednesday, 2 March 2011. I can't remember where I'd seen this idea before, probably a photography magazine at some time, so it's certainly not an Iain original! Partially closing the blinds in the en-suite bathroom produced stripes of light and dark, which became refracted into some interesting patterns and shapes when viewed through various glasses filled with water. Well I thought so anyway! Refraction abstract (c) Iain Houghton. F71, 25s, 60mm lens, ISO100. Optical illusion (c) Iain Houghton. Please f...

Sunday, 10 October 2010. It's a hard life. Erin, the cat from next door that seems to spend most of her time with us, certainly knows how to relax, as this photo of her on our spare bed shows! Iain's Photos: Parus major newtoni (British Great Tit)
http://iainsphotos.blogspot.com/2011/01/parus-major-newtoni-british-great-tit.html
Sunday, 30 January 2011. Parus major newtoni (British Great Tit). Whilst wandering through the woods at Towneley Hall, there was one spot in the trees where quite a few familiar birds were fluttering about. A robin caught my eye at first before flying off, but then this great tit landed close by and I had time for a couple of shots. Even better was that there was a wooden fence to rest on, so I could zoom in closer without risking camera shake. Parus major newtoni(c) Iain Houghton. Please feel free to ad...
