Meet Stan (my blog). To Create a World: Part 2: The History. This is the second post in a series I started last week. You can read the first post. So you have your map. Part #2: The History. History. Why is it important? Whatever it is, the history of your world will likely influence the ‘now’ of your world. So it’s important to figure out the crucial details of how your world came to be, and what all has happened since that time. Step #1: The Origin Story. How was your world created? How was it born?

Meet Stan (my blog). I'm sorry again about last Saturday. And I'm semi-sorry about this week's post. So, I was on a trip all last week. We left on Saturday and didn't get back till late Thursday night (technically Friday morning). I didn't wake up till 11 either, and my thoughts were everywhere. It has been a long week and I just couldn't write the post I wanted to. I was in a state, trying to figure out what I should do. Write another post excusing my absence? My dear friend Katie. I started with love.

Meet Stan (my blog). The Authors are Rising Tag. I have a big test coming up tomorrow and I wasn't really feeling the 'author interview' post (hey, I kept my word on the bunnies so that cancels this out, right? XP ) So it's time for another tag! Did a video interview. So I might be stretching it on the personal level, but this looked so much fun I just couldn't resist! I was tagged by Rebekah @ Rebekah's Remarks. Thank you, Rebekah! I will admit, "da rules" confused me on my first read). I know those are...

Meet Stan (my blog). What I've Learned in June 2016: Lesson 3. As you might have noticed, Stan had a makeover. Isn't he so pretty? Swoons over baby* I'm not 100% sure I'm in love with all my changes, so if you have an opinion on it please tell me! Today I'm going to be going over lesson 3 of the fabulous things I've learned this June. Would you like to know what it is? I couldn't. They couldn't see the light of day. NEVER. But I was out of time. So I printed out two copies: one for me, and one for the st...

Plot Therapy: April 2016

Thursday, April 28, 2016. How I Write a Blog Post. So back in February the lovely Katie did a post on A Writer's Faith about how she writes a blog post. I thought that this was a really cool idea, and so I decided to do a post on that as well! Thanks for letting me steal your idea, Katie! I'm going to be using this post for some example pictures. So when I get the first idea, I either open a new post in blogspot, or I write it down in my writing notebook, or blogging notebook. I proofread all my posts in...
Apples of Gold: January 2015
http://jessicalg97.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
25 January, 2015. Faith Like Potatoes - Book Review. After reading Faith Like Potatoes. I was surprised at how much of a bestseller it is; because I wouldn't call the writing amazing or well set out. But the story itself, and the answers to prayer it chronicles, along with the descriptions of trials and heartaches we can all relate to, made this book real. So, have you read (or seen) Faith Like Potatoes. How did it inspire you? 18 January, 2015. Recently I've been thinking about finding beauty in the ord...

Me, a Penguin. Monday, February 16, 2015. I haven't posted in a while.blogging is hard. Life has been good! Busy, and good. Musical season ended a month ago tomorrow, and.the songs are still getting stuck in my head, taking turns tormenting me throughout the day. :) Now, auditions for the spring play have come and gone, and I've been cast as Brooke, an inexperienced British actress. It'll be a fun part that challenges me as an actress! I love it and every time we meet, it makes my heart very happy. It wa...

Me, a Penguin. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Today, I'm thankful for this beautiful weather. And books, writing, my family, my friends, and just life. In general. :). I don't want to live some days as 'in between' days, just waiting to get them over with. Every day has a purpose, and every day can be amazing. I can live with joy, love people, be thankful, and God can work great things through me. He can open my eyes, and open new doors. So I'm going to make today the best day of my life. Of Stars and Ink-Stained Things: Poem: A Face Unknown
http://carolinemeek.blogspot.com/2014/02/poem-face-unknown.html
Me, a Penguin. Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Poem: A Face Unknown. Why am I here. Here, in a place of two-sided intentions, What will I do? Our land is obviously divided,. By the professed intent to care and help,. And the hard tendency to reject certain people. Who have somehow been pushed into an undeserved field of invisibility. We drive people away and refuse to see them. For what they are, in our perpetual condition of great hypocrisy. A person tries, but for naught,. For we have already programmed.

Of Stars and Ink-Stained Things: The Deepest Darkest Places
http://carolinemeek.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-deepest-darkest-places.html
Me, a Penguin. Monday, August 3, 2015. The Deepest Darkest Places. I'd like to share a poem I wrote. When I picked up my pen to write it, I didn't know what I would say. I wanted answers, I wanted my mind to stop running in circles.so I simply wrote, "Where is peace.". Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call to me and I will answer you.". God always answers us, in some way. The Deepest Darkest Places. In a world that takes it. And bottles it up to sell. Like stale food without value. But then changes the labels. In th...

Darr; Skip to Main Content. I am a Wretch. I am a Wretch (and so are you). I am a Wretch and So Are You! There is a God. Created the universe. (Genesis 1:1). Created mankind in His likeness. (Genesis 1:26) (You did not evolve from a monkey or a cesspool.). The first humans, Adam and Eve, disobeyed and sinned against God. Due to Adam’s sin, you live in a fallen world and you have inherited a sinful nature. (Romans 5:12, Psalm 51:5). Your sin separates you from God. Loves you and sent his Son. There is onl...

Monday, October 21, 2013. The rack was white. Its wrought iron caught. The late afternoon sunlight. And cast its shadow against the old. It held an arrangement. For all to see. Standing tall and regal. A gold filigree cross. Nestled in the center of roses. It must have taken hours. He came each day. To do his work. Shining shoes and sharing news. With customers young and old. I watched and waited. A long while to see. If anyone noticed his. They all walked away. In their newly polished shoes. Against the...

Meet Stan (my blog). The Importance of Vulnerability. So, my cousin and I decided to do something. Back in the day, when we were first starting out, we would mail each other copies of our chapters after we finished them. I haven't read everything my cousin, Elle, has written. But I've read a lot of it. Most of it first draft. Completely unedited. I wanted to read her WIP, Delitescent. She told me I could . but I had to hand over The Thief's Conspiracy. Great idea, right? I am a writer . dangit. The blog of writer K. Vann O'Brien. I’m moving. *Sniff*. A new chapter of my writing career has opened up and I am now blogging from my author website. Please update your feeds and bookmarks so you can continue with me on my journey over there. This blog has been important to me from the beginning, from that first post. Written in a flash of desperation (and inspired by a bottle of nail polish), when I knew there had to be something more. And I will always be grateful for that.

Just By Happenstance II | …we'll always be travelers in a very small boat…
Just By Happenstance II. 8230;we'll always be travelers in a very small boat…. Alone at sea margaret griswold-scheiding. June 28, 2010. I realize now how lonely they are. The ocean below and sky above. One deep turquoise-green, never at rest. The other luminous blue, just as restless. And i in-between, alone, my boat drifting. Puffs of white scud slowly overhead. And i watch them, transfixed. They are so peaceful, so many of them. And i wish i might join them there. Forsaking the loneliness here below.
