Municipal Broadband and Title II. This week, several IAMU members participated in an ex-parte letter filed by the American Cable Association (ACA) urging the FCC to not reclassify internet service and place it under the common carrier rules listed in Title II. One of the most popular concurrent sessions at the 2015 Municipal Broadband Conference was a presentation about the Clear2There platform that allows broadband providers to affordably offer connected premise services to both residential and commercial customers. There has also been strong interest among several IAMU members about the possibility of joint ownership of the Clear2There platform as a way to offer these services at a lower cost than other options.
