Ian's Ale Adventures: Banchory Beer Festival

http://iansaleadventures.blogspot.com/2015/08/banchory-beer-festival.html

Sunday, 9 August 2015. It was our first appearance at a Banchory Beer Festival, having been on holiday at the previous ones. We chose Sunday afternoon, avoiding the Friday and Saturday madness. Good choice - it was Family Day and the sun shone. Bands played in the main marquee and there was still plenty of ale left. Separate marquees for Prosecco and Gin/Rum. How very Banchory. Here's some shots I took:. Nice day out - we'll be back next time. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Ian's Ale Adventures: July 2014

http://iansaleadventures.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Monday, 28 July 2014. We arrived in Southern Oregon on Friday night - just in time to have our evening meal at the Wild River Brewery's ( http:/ www.wildriverbrewing.com/. Outlet in Medford. Their ESB. For my belated Father's Day present from our daughter, I went to a new outlet in Grants Pass to fill my growler - Oregon Pour Authority ( https:/ www.facebook.com/OregonPourAuthority. Where I sampled a few of their interesting selection, finally choosing Fort George/Boneyard/Block 15's 3 Way IPA. Craft" be...

Ian's Ale Adventures: January 2015

http://iansaleadventures.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, 15 January 2015. Adventures Down Under again. It's been a while since we were here, but here's how our first week of Ale Adventures in Australia has gone. The big discovery was our visit to Adelaide's Wheatsheaf Hotel. Http:/ wheatsheafhotel.com.au/. Known locally, in typical Aussie style, as "The Wheaty", home of the Wheaty Brewing Corps. Brewery. Great selection of micro brews plus, of course, their own, including one on cask, served via handpump:. We've also been to the Curious Squire. To st...

Ian R Stewart: Penultimate weekend in GP

http://ianrstewart.blogspot.com/2015/07/penultimate-weekend-in-gp.html

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Sunday, 19 July 2015. Penultimate weekend in GP. Gary and Luca are back home now - and probably exhausted after their marathon journey. We were all up before 4 am on Saturday morning to say farewell. Lucy drove them down to Medford and she then went for a long run before heading in to Costco when it opened at 10 am. We've both put so much weight on that we badly need as much exercise as we can get. Map My Walk. And I thought I'd take the chance to look at their frames for glass...

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Saturday, 20 June 2015. Well, we've learned a bit about how Sat Nav operates in North America. Our recently acquired handheld unit has the latest software, so there could be no confusion over new roads etc. Eventually we got to the top of the Hoosier Pass - 11,500 feet, marking the Continental Divide ( https:/ en.wikipedia.org/? Title=Continental Divide of the Americas. Carrying on H9(S), we drove through Alma - the. Did Sat Nav think there was no safe place to turn until now?

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Saturday, 27 June 2015. This week in Grants Pass. Well, we arrived in Oregon on Monday. The Lesinas were driving back from their annual family camping trip in the wilds of Northern California and and had arranged to pick us up in Medford. We landed slightly before they could get there, so we took a taxi to our favourite Pizza Bar/Restaurant - Kaleidoscope - and had lunch there, finishing in perfect time, just as they arrived. The rest of the week can be told in pictures:. On th...

Ian R Stewart: We're back

http://ianrstewart.blogspot.com/2015/08/were-back.html

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Sunday, 2 August 2015. The journey back home was fine, but the usual sleep pattern problems emerged. By the time we got to Aberdeen, where Gary met us, then took him to Inverurie and went to Tesco for a quick stocking-up of essentials, it was 7 pm by the time we stepped in to Arbor Court. Had my first pint of real ale for a couple of months when I met Keith Gray at the Legion later - and we were then joined by Ken Page, Archie Cook and Jas Bhagrath. Other than that, not a lot t...

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Saturday, 11 July 2015. Quiet day, but we did manage a walk down to the local beach, where Luca headed straight for the rocks:. This is what he was after:. We walked the length of the beach to Ruby's Shake Shack. At Crystal Cove and had shakes there before walking back. Gary sampled Scott's excellent BBQ skills in the evening - ribs this time. Here's some of the (non-Facebook) photos:. Quiet morning - although Jo did finally get in the lovely warm pool adjacent to our villa:.

Ian R Stewart: Jackson County Fair

http://ianrstewart.blogspot.com/2015/07/jackson-county-fair.html

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Friday, 24 July 2015. So, as I said earlier, we travelled down from GP (Josephine County) to Central Point (Jackson County), just north of Medford, for the first day of the Jackson County Fair on Wednesday. The similarities between this and the agricultural shows in NE Scotland were obvious. Sure, there were rides and food stalls - lots of them - but the focus that day was on cattle and pigs. We watched some Junior pig "herders" (that can't be the right word, can it? Dave, Coli...

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Friday, 17 July 2015. Eve of departure for Gary and Luca. It's now Friday lunchtime and Gary and Luca's holiday is almost over. So soon - the time has passed very quickly. It's a very early start for them tomorrow morning and they have a couple of layovers - firstly at San Francisco and then at LA - before catching the long flight to London, then another layover on Sunday morning before the flight up to Aberdeen,. Anyway, here's the story of the last few days:. Jo was first to ...

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Monday, 27 July 2015. http://ianrstewart.blogspot.com/2015_05_24_archive.html

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Wednesday, 27 May 2015. Carole is home now and Jo is going out to Inverurie tomorrow to see - and feed - her. It's now just a waiting game for Carole - take it easy and do the exercises and she'll be fine - although she has to go back for another procedure in 3 months' time. On the way to school this morning, I was telling Luca about us going to France next week and he then started quizzing me what various parts of the body were in French? I've been taking photos from our bed o...

http://ianrstewart.blogspot.com/2015_07_19_archive.html

Ian R Stewart Family Blog. Friday, 24 July 2015. Cade's football training was so short yesterday (Thursday) that I barely had time to get back to Delsie Drive before he texted to say that it was over. Just as well I hadn't gone for a cycle. As usual, we popped in to Haggen's. After training to buy Lunchables. For Cade and Braeden. The Fedex delivery duly arrived so we hot-footed the latest insurance check over to Scott at the hospital. Fingers crossed all's well this time. And that was only starters!
